4.0 out of 5 stars Val and Gawain Road Trip, August 30, 2007
This review is from: Prince Valiant, Vol. 26: Lithway's Law (Paperback)
Hal Foster produced Prince Valiant stories for nearly forty years. During that time there were certain story lines that were touch stones to which Foster went back every few years. The core of "Lithway's Law" centers around a series of adventures where Val and his best friend Gawain are out travelling around Britain. They escape difficult predicaments, fight in tournaments and woo beautiful women. The modern day equivelent of these story lines is the road trip film. Substitue Hope and Cosby for Val and Gawain and you get the general idea. What keeps these stories fresh is Hal Foster's beautiful illustrations. This is not the best volume in the series but fans will find it entertaining.
