A Wonderful Eco-Tale!,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Prince of Whales (Mass Market Paperback)
A lovely tale about Toby the whale as he seeks his pod and takes the reader on an undersea adventure that is marvelously imagined and fun to read. It is also guaranteed to stimulate an ecological interest in most readers and a concern for the survial of endangered whales. If you love this kind of book like I do, I would also recommend the recently published eco-novel, ACCUSED BY FACET-EYES (author C.B. Don), since it takes the reader into another world within our own...that of the fantastic Magi honeybee beings and the plight of the endangered honeybee pollinators. Both books are thought-provoking and a journey into a realm not usually talked about or visualized by us humans!

one of my favorites from childhood,

This review is from: The Prince of Whales (Mass Market Paperback)
I read this book quite a few years ago during grade school, and though I have a difficult time recalling anything else I read from that time period, this one stands out in my mind. I stayed up all night to finish and I remember crying during some of the more poignant scenes. It has a great ecological message and is written beautifully.

Toby's adventures alone in the open sea,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: The Prince of Whales (Paperback)
Toby lives in a pod with his fellow whales but he sings in his sleep! That could endanger the whole pod by waking up the whaling ships, and that could mean big problems. He does come along on the migration route, but has to stay 100 yards away at all times. But soon he's lost! And worst of all, unable to find his pod.

Toby must fight the Dream Eater to save his species,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Prince of Whales (Mass Market Paperback)
Toby has a problem. He sings in his sleep, thus waking the other whales. Worse, he could attract the Iron Beasts, the whaling ships. He is banished. Alone on the open sea he meets a spirit whale named Thes who tells him of Diomeda, the Dream Eater, whose intention it is to eat up all the dreams in the world. The only thing that can stop him is music, Toby's music. This is a wonderful book. You've got to read it to see what happens in the end.
