4.0 out of 5 stars Tumultous love story with blackmail and surprise, October 4, 2005
By
In the beginning our heroine is Guido's mistress and he's content with it but she secretly loves him. He whisks Lucy off to see his new nephew being baptized but they end up having a huge disagreement and she flies back home. However, Guido's mistress finds out she's pregnant with her prince's baby and she tells him. Naturally he insists they get married and warns her if she refuses, he will find ways to get her to agree and she is forced to sign a pre nup relinquishing custody to the royal family if they divorce. It breaks her heart to realize she must stay married to this man to keep her child. Guido finds himself falling deeper and deeper in love with her while she tries to see what pushes his buttons. In the end they are forced to admit they are in love with each other and welcome their daughter as a possible heir to the throne, if Guido's brother doesn't have any children.

3.0 out of 5 stars Frustrating, August 11, 2006
This is the story of Lucy, an airline stewardess who starts an affair with a prince, Guido. She finds herself falling in love with him even though she knows he'll never love her, she's just his mistress. She is a master of hiding her emotions because she senses Guido will be scared of at any outward sign. It is actually tearing her up inside. Lucy breaks things off with Guido after realizing she'll end up with a broken heart and then finds out she is pregnant. Guido knows he'll never love, he's just not capable of it. AS a matter of fact, that's what attracted him to Lucy, she doesn't seem needy emotionally. Also, their sex life is the best he's ever experienced. When he orders Lucy to marry him, it is only because of their child.

The sexual chemistry is explosive in this story but the total lack of emotion in Guido is bothersome. Even when their child is born he doesn't show any emotion. Of course the happily ever after finally arrives, but the last minute show of emotion just seems a little too late and forced for me.
