5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Cinderella romance -- Very highly recommended, February 23, 2003
This review is from: The Prince's Tutor (Mass Market Paperback)
An escape from reality to attend her friend's fairy tale wedding goes woefully wrong when the best man disappears just before the ceremony. Amanda Hutton had hoped to forget her overdue rent and lack of job for a while, but chasing wayward Prince Stefano diTalora through casinos while wearing a frou-frou gown and heals was not what she had in mind. Worse, the king wants to hire her services as an etiquette tutor for Stefano, but Amanda's classes are designed for the children of dignitaries, not a playboy bachelor.

Stefano feels more comfortable on the ski slopes than at state dinners, purposefully dodging responsibility whenever possible. When his father leaves him no choice but to accept Amanda's instruction, Stefano becomes even more determined to thwart her. For reasons that are deeply personal, Stefano swore to never date a woman like Amanda, even agreeing to let the king arrange a marriage for him. Yet his carefully maintained distance threatens to crumble every time he is near his tutor.

Nicole Burnham has a knack for penning romance that lingers in a reader's memory. Last year's GOING TO THE CASTLE remains in this reviewer's memory as fresh as when I finished it and THE PRINCE'S TUTOR promises the same vivacious memory. Strongly developed characterizations and a fun plot are only the beginning. Burnham incorporates details that charm and add sharp originality, such as a rubber boat race and a forgotten rose. Indeed, THE PRINCE'S TUTOR proves that Burnham's deft skill at penning a Cinderella romance that possesses both a heart and a soul. THE PRICE'S TUTOR comes very highly recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars Lesson in manners leads to marriage., December 14, 2003

Sending bridesmaid Amanda Hutton out to search for a wayward Prince in the local casinos is the final straw. The man has to learn some manners! And King Eduardo knows that Amanda is just the woman for the job.

I will admit that I wasn't all that impressed with The Prince's Tutor at first, but when Stefano takes Amanda for an evening stroll in the rose garden, it won me over. This sweet and warmhearted tale is a wonderful way to spend an afternoon, or evening, watching two people fall in love. Recommended.

THE PRINCE'S TUTOR is a wonderful read! This story of a playboy prince and his ever-so-proper tutor is funny and touching, an excellent sequel to Ms. Burnham's GOING TO THE CASTLE. I look forward to reading MORE books about San Rimini's royal diTalora family. I can't wait for THE KNIGHT'S KISS!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Wonderful, Sweet Story, February 8, 2003
This review is from: The Prince's Tutor (Mass Market Paperback)
Amanda Hutton works with children, teaching them in the ins and outs of public life. Now she's been hired to teach a prince how to cope with his royal duties. Only problem? The prince isn't a little boy, he's a gorgeous man! Prince Stefano and Amanda work well together...and they're doing something else together. Maybe it's falling in love?

A fantastic story!!

4.0 out of 5 stars simple and packed with wonderful characters, January 24, 2003

Courtesy of A Romance Review

The Prince's Tutor, the second book of Ms Burnham's San Rimini Royalty series, is a modern fairy tale which follows the first in the series, Going to the Castle.

The story is simple and packed with wonderful characters. Prince Stefano is not only appealing and charming but also a very nice and sweet man. Amanda is just the right woman to match this unroyal prince. But without the magic pen of the author, a commoner and a prince charming will hardly find their love despite all their differences. Isn't that the kind of romance that draws readers to ask for more?

I read this one over the past weekend. A quick read that tells the story of unbridled Prince Stefano. A very good story that kept me interested. Probably Nicole Burnham's best so far.
