For a little princess,
By
This review is from: Princess Baby (Hardcover)
This baby does not want to called Cupcake or Little Lamb or Sweet Gumdrop. She wants to be addressed with her proper title, Princess Baby! When her parents understand, at last, all is well.Princess Baby wears sparkling gold shoes and a glittering crown. Bright patterns make up the illustrations which are influenced, no doubt by Katz's interest in textiles. The love the parents feel for their "princess" is reassuring and heart-felt as the family embraces on the final page. If you know a family with a new baby girl, this is the book for them.

I love Karen Katz books and so does my one year old little girl. We have several other Karen Katz lift-a-flap books that my daughter loves to read, especially because she likes to lift the flaps to see what is behind them. I bought her the book Princess Baby for her first birthday, but I wasn't sure she would like it because it wasn't a lift-a-flap book, but she loved it! We read it to her every night before bed. She really likes the pictures, I just have to be careful because it isn't a board book, and she ripped one of the pages. Other than that it is a very Cute story!

Poor baby! She's been called everything: Cupcake, Buttercup, Little Lamb, and even Sweet Gumdrop.Hasn't anyone noticed her shiny crown, fancy dress, sparkly shoes, velvet cape, glittery jewels, or royal wand? What will it take for her parents to call her by her real name, Princess Baby? Toddlers will be enchanted by the feel of the glittery, sparkly crown on the cover of PRINCESS BABY, and will find a reason to giggle as baby tries to set things right where her name is concerned. Beginning readers will have no trouble with the easy text, and will have a fun time reading this alone or having it read to them as a bedtime story. Reviewed by: Jennifer Wardrip, aka "The Genius"

Having a Princess myself, this book is wonderful. The illustrations are great. I thought this would be a great bedtime book to read. Princess Baby has everything to dream of "Happily Ever After."

My girls LOVE this book. We first found it at the library & they loved it so much we bought it. Both my girls (4 & 2) love to read along with us. Often times we'll hear they during the day calling each other "missy muffin, "pumpkin" etc.

Busy, brightly colored illustrations are perfect for holding babies' and toddlers' interest.,

Princess Baby goes through her day longing to be called by her real name. There are over ten endearing nicknames that baby is called but she doesn't want to be called by those names. She wonders "Why doesn't anyone ever call me by my REAL name?" She knows that all they have to do is pay attention and they would surely discover her real name. This simple little book offers a unique spin on all the pet names people have for babies and the one name that is most important - at least to this baby. The busy, brightly colored illustrations are perfect for holding babies' and toddlers' attention. Butterfly Kisses for Grandma and Grandpa
