5.0 out of 5 stars Great book for my daughters
I love this book. I have three daughters, and they all love this book too. It really adds a unique and( I think ) healthy twist to the princess stories that my girls have heard. In addition, the illustrations are wonderful. My kindergartener was immediately excited to point out details in the illustrations. I think that it is good for my 4th grader and my 6th grader...

1.0 out of 5 stars As a father I have strong concerns about this book
I wonder how you'd feel if the reverse idea were in this book: that boys don't need girls, that a man doesn't need a woman, that a man should find ways to be happy without a woman and forget about the opposite sex. I might be wrong, but, to me, this book is scary. I wonder about its motivation. It appears anti-male and propagandistic. Plus, girls will be girls. They...

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book for my daughters, August 20, 2007

I love this book. I have three daughters, and they all love this book too. It really adds a unique and( I think ) healthy twist to the princess stories that my girls have heard. In addition, the illustrations are wonderful. My kindergartener was immediately excited to point out details in the illustrations. I think that it is good for my 4th grader and my 6th grader to know that fairy tales can have different kinds of "happily ever afters". Princess Bubble is a "thinking girl's" princess, one that really thinks about who she is and what is really important in life. My girls can dress up in their tiaras and pretend to be Princess Bubble anytime.

5.0 out of 5 stars Princess Bubble a valuable lesson., July 25, 2006

What a delightful book! My five year old daughter and I read it together every night before she goes to bed. The message that a girl does not need a man and money to be happy is what a young girl today needs to hear. Society places too much emphasis on these things and Princess Bubble shows girls that there are plenty of other avenues to happiness.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cute book, September 20, 2007
This review is from: Princess Bubble (Hardcover)
I thought the book would be longer than it was - was a bit too easy for my third grader - but loved the message. I even let our Title 1 reading teacher at our school borrow the book to use with her younger students during class. I also appreciated the hidden "adult" humor (i.e. the bridesmaid dresses you can wear again)

Overall a great message for all girls - just a better read for second grade and younger.

PRINCESS BUBBLE is a precious book, especially for little girls. It has a great message for girls, and I loved the illustrations. I'm hoping that this book will just be the first of a series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lovely story!!, June 17, 2006

My 7-year old adores this book. She even brought it to school to show all her friends. It captivates the spirit of an independent, strong, smart, young woman and manages to do it with such sweetness. My daughter wants to grow up to be just like Princess Bubble!!

What a wonderful book that helps to teach young girls that their happiness is not dependent upon a "prince". A great balance to today's messages that would have young girls believing that their future rests on their ability to attract someone to rescue them. Thanks Susan and Kim for an alternate "happy ending" that will help my daughter to believe that she is beautiful and valuable just as God made her!

4.0 out of 5 stars Stories for Children Magazine 4 Star Review, August 11, 2008

REVIEWED BY: Wayne S. Walker
Being an "old-fashioned" type of person and having read some of the promotion for this book, I was not sure that I would like it. However, I determined to read it with an open mind. Behold, I found that I did like it. Most every little girl wants to grow up to be a Princess who finds her Prince Charming. And most parents would like this for their little girls. Yet, it is plain that it does not always happen for everyone. For those young ladies who must learn to be content with their singleness, there is Princess Bubble, who graduates from college, gets a job, buys a palace of her own, and watches several of her friends get married.

Many of her married friends begin to ask her why she has not found a prince yet, and eventually her mother tells her that it is time for her to find a prince. She does try and makes many new friends in the process, but finally learns from her fairy godmother that "living happily every after is not about finding a prince. True happiness is found by loving God, being kind to others, and being comfortable with who you are already." So, what will Princess Bubble do with what she has learned? This is a lovely story with an important message for girls (and for their parents) who can read it to help be prepared whatever may happen.
