Just received this ring via FedEx! I paid for the Expedited shipping with just a little fear considering the prior review mentioning it being a waste, but was hoping that reviewer's situation was just a fluke. It probably was, because I placed the order on 2/29/12, and received it this morning (3/2). Almost had a mini heart attack because I had the ring delivered to my job, and while FedEx dropped off some other packages, he initially couldn't find my package in the truck. However, I kept making him check until he found it. (We usually get large equipment, not small packages)
Now to the ring itself. I will start by saying I know jack about gems, jewelry, stones, etc, and have ALWAYS been a little underwhelmed when I see jewelry outside of the store (in hindsight, perhaps just crappy lighting?) Initially, I was disappointed in the "sparkle" of the 3 diamonds, but then luckily it occurred to me that perhaps looking at this ring in the office--under dull-yellow florescent lighting-- might not show a gem's true sparkle. So, I took it into normal white lighting, and with so much relief, I am happy to say that it sparkles amazingly and beautifully! (and outside as well!!) So much so, that I almost thought the round diamond was set on one of those backings that have ridges and angles to add a fake sparkling (I have too much experience purchasing low cost jewelry, I guess, lol), but it is set just like it is pictured, and I think she will LOVE this ring!
The ONLY thing I wish was a little bit better was the box the ring came in. Slightly marred edges on the outer box, and just not blown away by the ring holder box either. But, such a small inconsequential issue as I can get a velvety type ring holder box at any jewelry store, and the quality of the ring itself is better than I had hoped.
I simply cannot wait to give it to her tonight, and I hopehopehope she says YES! Wish me luck!!!!
I also am so happy and excited about this, wanted to share my story, and also mention that I really hope I don't puke out of nervousness during the proposal... :)
