Finally, an empowered princess!,
By M. Talalay "Edamommy - Mom, Reviewer, Writer,... (Lutherville, MD United States) - See all my reviews (REAL NAME)
This review is from: The Princess and the Frog Junior Novelization (Disney Princess and the Frog) (Paperback)
Caution: There is a scary mean guy in this story, as in all Disney stories. He's less scary in print than on screen.
Kiwi Magazine Review: Disney's newest Princess has alot of pluck. She's not the type to sit around and wait for a prince or nap for years. Nonetheless, Tiana is a strong and confidant woman with alot of ambition and a great role model for girls. She still has the trademark Disney impossibly small waist and gigantic doe eyes, but this is a princess of substance. Can't wait to see the movie!

Princess and the Frog by N'Dia,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: The Princess and the Frog Junior Novelization (Disney Princess and the Frog) (Paperback)
I would recommend Princess and the Frog to be a wonderful book. This book is about a girl who will do whatever it takes to make her dreams come true. But while she is trying to make her dream come true, she gets in a Froggy situation.
Along the way, the princess meets a lightning bug named Ray, and an alligator named Louis. She also runs into the handsome prince Nuveen. I believe that princess Tiana is teaching all young ladies and gentleman that you can do anything if you believe you can. This book is one of the only books to tell about a Disney princess that is African American. If you would like to read this book you can go to any local library. Thanks for reading my review! N'Dia

My Little Princesses Loved It,
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Princess and the Frog Junior Novelization (Disney Princess and the Frog) (Paperback)
I bought this to read with my 4 year-old before the movie came out. I figured she'd be more excited by the movie and understand what was going on better if we had read the story first. That worked and she loved both reading it with me at night and watching the movie.
My 10 year-old step-daughter picked it up next. She is a reluctant reader in general, but she loved the movie and was excited about being able to re-live it. She read the whole thing cover to cover without any encourage from us which is a big deal for her. In the mean-time my 4 (almost 5) year-old's reading skills have improved and she has begun to read it to herself over the last few days. In short, we're getting a lot of use out of this little book. A very good buy. |
