5.0 out of 5 stars I love this little light!!!
I purchased one of these about 2 years ago in Radio Shack, and I used it so much that used up the battery and finally the bulb. I then obtained a replacement and did an encore and now I am buying a third. I may seem like lot but in all honesty I used the hell out of mine! I have used it for such things as changing a flat tire at night (this happened to me twice),...

2.0 out of 5 stars A Task Light not capable of most tasks...
This light is just "ok". This light is fairly bright, given how small it is, but its not a light for ALL tasks. The light would probably be fine for reading at night but not suitable if you are, oh lets say, working on a car or something where you really need a bright light.

My biggest gripe is probably how uncomfortable the light actually is on someone's ear...

I have used it for such things as changing a flat tire at night (this happened to me twice), working on computers under a desk, wiring electrical fixtures in a dark corners. Plus about a 1000 other applications where it was not practical to have a conventional flash light. It's light in weight and mounts on the ear much like a cell phone ear piece does. About the only down side it that if you have cell phone ear piece on the other ear, you end up looking like something out of Star Trek.

My biggest gripe is probably how uncomfortable the light actually is on someone's ear. It is not ergonomic by any means of the imagination. It seems like its not really built to fit on the ear at all. When you place the light over your ear it actually makes the light swivel practically into your eye ball, which is exactly where you don't want it. I would only recommend this light to people who plan on using it to read for short periods of time.

5.0 out of 5 stars I-Sight, I like!!, February 1, 2008
I always find it amusing that some folks seem to have difficulty with operating something rather simple. Much like the people shown in an advertisement having difficulty (on purpose) with a simple task and then shown with the 'solution' product that they are pitching.

We spend a lot of time RVing with a dog which requires spending time outdoors, many times in the dark. This little light is perfect since it frees up your hands to handle the doggy chores. But it also is enough light on a dark night to allow you to get around while seeing everywhere your head is pointed.

It feels awkward at first, until you get the hang of it. Put it on your ear, adjusting it and pushing it against your head, until it feels snug. Mine has yet to fall off or even come close to falling off.

I've used 'head lights' that strap around your head like a visor. And I've used other types of illuminating devices, but this is now my favorite.

If you are one of the voters in Broward county during the 2000 election who couldn't seem to vote, this is not for you. Everyone else - you'll love it!

Adding to this review..............

I neglected to mention that it has allowed me to grill on our portable grill outside after dark when camping. Many times the light available is just not enough or non-existent. This light is more than adequate for the task and frees your hands to do everything. It's cool.........

5.0 out of 5 stars Mini light with a Big punch!, January 18, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This mini gizmo I found to be one of those great things that come in small packages. I purchased this item for my wife who sometimes needs a night light for reading at night (in darkest) so not to bother me when she's next to me. This was the answer to our prayers. I highly recommend!

3.0 out of 5 stars Tiny Book Light, November 15, 2006
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is a useful little light that does not give off a huge amount of light but would be okay for reading in bed, on a plane or anywhere else you did not want to wake or disturb others. There are other, better booklights but they are bulkier and heavier.

2.0 out of 5 stars I-Sight Less Useful than Hoped, July 29, 2008

I often work late in a office that uses timed motion sensing after 5PM, so I thought that rather than jump up like a wild man every 15 minutes to turn the light back on I'd instead put a small flashlight over my ear. In practice this doesn't work as well as I had hoped. The spot illuminated by this light is small enough to make it annoying to keep it on the subject of interest. The quality of the light is very blue, causing eyestrain if used for long periods. And the earpiece is somewhat uncomfortable and hard to adjust. On the plus side, the light is very handy for working under the desk when cables need to be moved, because it frees both hands and provides plenty of light to locate and orient plugs and such. And it's very handy to have a small flashlight in a dark office even if you don't hang it over your ear. I found it a worthwhile purchase even if it didn't turn out to be as useful as I had hoped.

I love these lights for reading at night without waking my wife. The light is bright but focused enough to keep on the page without lighting the whole room. They fit my ear perfectly and I can wear them for hours without getting sore. Others have complained about the fit but I suspect they were trying to wear it on the left ear. It is for the right ear only (so you can hit the switch while wearing it).

My one caveat is to be careful with the switch. If you pack it tight in luggage it's easy for the switch to be compressed and wear down the batteries. When I travel, I slip it into a hardshell glasses case to protect against this. It can also light up if you leave it upside down on a table and someone throws a magazine or book on top of it. Not a big deal, and the batteries are cheap, but something to watch out for.

The case is pretty soft plastic so be careful about opening the battery compartment with the right tool. A screwdriver can mess it up. A quarter works perfectly. I usually just press my thumb down and twist and that does the trick.

5.0 out of 5 stars " little gem", December 4, 2010
This review is from: Princess International PI-790 Princess International LED Ear Light (Electronics)
This little light and it's cousin from Angel Sales are terrific. I also bought one last year(for a couple of bucks less but..) and am hooked on it. I bought more to put in my family's "bug out" emergency packs. It will light up a path, a book, craft projects, and provides a neat little spotlight with minimal weight for assorted tasks. It's semi segmented vinyl earpiece makes it flexible enough to fit around my glasses. I don't have any major complaints about this little gem. I've paid twice+ for other lights that are not anywhere close to the value of this. By the way, the Zopid brand of similar looking light is junk. Even though it has a little hinge to switch ears the vinyl earpiece came off repeatedly and would just not stay together. I sent the two I ordered back in return mail. All in all, this light is great. I'm buying more for car glove boxes and am keeping one in my purse; less weight and hands free unlike those other purse flashlights. The better to grab your pepper spray or stun gun. Enjoy this gadget!

3.0 out of 5 stars Not a reading light, October 30, 2010

There are some serious flaws with this unit. The most serious is that with the batteries inserted, the slightest bump - which means something as simple as tossing it into a laptop bag - activates the on-button and turns the light on. So there it is, draining away the cell batteries as it sits inside your bag.

Second, it doesn't really fit comfortably on the ear if you wear glasses. It's awkward and falls off easily.

Third, there is no way this has sufficient illumination to read with, due to the limited ability to direct the light where you want it to go, especially wearing glasses. I use it to illuminate my netbook's keyboard when I wake up early in the morning and don't want to disturb my DH who is still sleeping. For that, it's adequate.

2.0 out of 5 stars I-Sight, Nice Concept, Nice Try, December 29, 2008
The concept is good although not unique. Think hiking headlamp and you've got the same idea only without the sturdy and comfortable head strap. I often would use a small lamp to help me when fixing things in low, poorly lighted areas; like a kitchen sink, the underneath of a desk and trying to decipher what cables go with which electrical device and just where they are plugged. It's nice to have the light, hands free, bright and follows the direction of my head and with a small amount of practice, my eyes.

The I-Sight is made to be worn over the ear, right or left side. There in lies the problem, the earpiece. If you have big to enormous ears, you can skip this section. If you have normal to small ears, sorry but think twice before buying this model. The earpiece is made of a hard plastic that is not malleable. I tried wearing it on several occasions, walking, skiing, standing still and the dang thing just kept falling off regardless of how tightly I squeezed the earpiece to adjust the size; albeit, I've got small ears. I even worn it around my ear and tried pinning it securely under my knit hat, or my head band, I even wore it under my Tilley's boating hat without any success at pinning it down behind my ear.

Where I did find success was to hook the earpiece over my headband. The downside, the beam was level with my peripheral vision and had a tendency to blind the eye on the side the I-Sight was worn.

Overall, it was a nice try but with so much competition from other companies, one would think that the manufacturers would have spent time getting the part that is in constant contact with your body as comfortable and non-invasive as possible. Unfortunately, they didn't.
