Book Description

March 2005
The haunting story of the Scottish-Hawaiian Princess Victoria Ka'iulani; the fragile beauty who, as heir-apparent, was groomed all her life to be the future Queen of Hawai'i. Despite the struggles of loyal Royalists who fought for their beleaguered throne, Ka'iulani’s birthright was swept away forever when the monarchy was overthrown in January 1893 and Hawai'i was annexed to the United States on August 12, 1898. The Princess died seven months later, at the age of twenty-three.

This review is from: Princess Kaiulani of Hawaii: The Monarchy's Last Hope (Paperback)
I've always wondered why the old timers were so against the "haoles" (white man). Now I know......They were two timed by
the very ones they trusted. The royal family wanted it to be a republic, they did not want to be a territory or state. If you'd go there you can see the beauty of the islands destroyed by the development of the haoles. Everyone should read this book....then they'll understand.
