This is #1 of a series of reprints of the first editions of the "John Carter of Mars" series by Edgar Rice Burroughs.
John Carter is a Virginia Civil War officer who is mysteriously transported to Mars and has many amazing adventures. This one, "A Princess of Mars", is the first. The text of this edition is from the 1917 A.C. McClurg edition. The front cover picture on the dust jacket is a restored copy of the front of the original dust jacket All the original interior illustrations are reproduced (black and white). Nice reprint of this classic series! |
