4.0 out of 5 stars Who Could the Princess Me Be?
"Princess Me" is about a little girl who is truly royal. She looks like a princess and behaves like a princess too -- good manners, always kind to others. But... "Just who could this princess be, the lovely faithful Princess Me?" Well, I bet you can guess.

This book is written and illustrated by Karma Wilson, who also did the popular books in the "Bear Snores...

1.0 out of 5 stars the dark side of enchantment
We have enjoyed Calico and the Bear series, etc. Princess Me reinforces damaging stereotypes for girls. She acts like a "royal" with servants waiting at her command. She has no abilities other than to "rule". Her knight takes action while she is waited upon hand and foot. She merely has to smile and have tea with her ladies. She will never have to worry her pretty...

This book is written and illustrated by Karma Wilson, who also did the popular books in the "Bear Snores On" series. The illustrations are tender,w warm and charming, and should appeal to any young princess, or any fan of good picture books. The story itself is reasonably short, not too complex, and should be good as a read aloud, or for beginning readers.

A Kid's Review

My twins are 2 years old and this is their favorite book. They love the pictures and all the animals are dressed as characters, which makes it more fun. Its their favorite bedtime book.

5.0 out of 5 stars My Favorite Princess Book Out There, June 26, 2010
This review is from: Princess Me (Hardcover)
I admit that I don't encourage "the princess thing" with my 3ish year-old daughter. It's not that I hide the princess books or magically make them disappear from our library book bag...I've not come to that...yet. But I just want to make sure she doesn't want to be dainty and tidy and fair and controlled for all of her days!

This book is the best princess book I've ever read. Karma Wilson is one of our favorite authors (that's how we found this one at our library). Her Bear Snores On series and Dinos on the Go and Whopper Cake books are just wonderful.

This book is an excellent book for a gift, I think, because it is enough princess to grab the attention of a little girl who might be all about princesses but not too much that the parents' eyes will roll out of their heads. It introduces real princess vocabulary/concepts (about ruling the land) so is a good "broadening horizons" book.

I first found Karma Wilson through her Bear book series, but I have found I love most all her books. This one is very nice and has a good lesson in it. She loves it!

My 19 month old grandbaby has to have Daddy or Momma read this book to her daily. She loves it. The book is very large, compared to most books; the pictures are delightful and it is a pleasure to read.

4.0 out of 5 stars Angelic, May 7, 2008
This review is from: Princess Me (Hardcover)
This is an adorable book to be read to little girls. The pictures are a delight, brightly colored and from a variety of perspectives of an imagination-driven bedroom. The tale is inspirational and reminds little girls (and anyone else who wants to feel loved) how valuable they are.
