5.0 out of 5 stars Best potty training book ever March 28, 2010
Format:Paperback
My sweet princess had no interest whatsoever in potty training. We'd tried other strategies, and other kids' potty books, to no avail. This adorable book, however, did the trick - she's asked us to read it to her no less than 5 times per day, and she's actually started learning to use the potty! (Sorry to be so specific, but probably only parents are reading this, right?) The pictures are so cute, and I love the princess language in it - she says, "Farewell!" when she flushes the potty, the bluebirds bring her pink toilet tissue, and of course, the woodland creatures help her wash her hands. Sure, there will be haters who won't like the gender-typing, but I'd be willing to bet none of them have a 3-year-old girl who actually thinks she's a princess. What I like best is that this is a book I actually enjoy reading (good thing!). The magic of the motivational stickers wore off pretty quickly, but the trick is finding what works best for each child (candy for us). Grabbing my daughter's attention and giving us phrases to use as she learns has had amazing results.

5.0 out of 5 stars The reviews don't exaggerate! It is really that good November 12, 2010
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
I bought this after reading the reviews and I thought maybe they were exaggerating a little bit. Well, as it appears, they aren't!

My daughter was having a really bad time with potty training, especially with sitting long times in the potty to wait. We bought a couple of books about potty training, and this is really good. It is super pink, super girly and she just LOVES that at this age. She enjoys repeating some of the sentences in the book, and the pictures are adorable and she enjoys them.

Plus, she was never interested in sticking stickers anywhere other than her hand. Until she saw the tiara! And she has put all the jewels on the tiara, she counts them, this one is pink, that one is purple... Two weeks and working so far! Some days I had to read this book several times. I recommend it!

(the other book I bought was ok; she liked it, but soon she lost interest... But this one is still her favorite!)

4.0 out of 5 stars It's cute August 17, 2010
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
The only thing I did not like about this book was the sentence "I swear." It wasn't said in the context of actually swearing; However, it just didn't sound appropriate for this sweet little book. I just substituted "I promise" instead, or just skip over it all together. Very cute illustrations. My daughter likes it very well, but she has multiple potty books and especially likes ones with the button that she can press and make the flushing sound. All in all this is a sweet little book.
