Princess Present was Great,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: The Princess Present: A Princess Diaries Book (Princess Diaries, Vol. 6 1/2) (Hardcover)
This book was GREAT! It takes place at Christmas time which makes it a perfect holiday book. For all you big Princess Diaries fans, it sequentially takes place AFTER book 6 (which comes out next year). But enough of the technical stuff. Here's a summary:
Lilly and Michael are coming to Genovia for Christmas. Lilly knows nothing about palace protocol and insults Mia's cousin Prince Rene, shocks Prince William, and gets one of the servants fired! To top it all, a fight that Lilly caused leads to the breaking of a very valuable heirloom. As you can imagine, Grandmere was furious. The end is really ironic. I won't tell you what it is but it has something to do with Michael's present. This book was HILLARIOUS! Every page has something to make you laugh. Lilly's attitude to Prince Rene made me laugh out loud. All the mentions of real royals where really good (imagine this: Prince William snapping pictures with his cell phone camera in order to blackmail a certain relative)! This book is guaranteed to light up your day. You'll be laughing your head off. This book is a perfect read for the holiday season, no matter what holiday you celebrate. If you are a Princess Diaries fan already or if you have just started reading them, this book is the perfect thing to add to your collection.

A nice cozy Christmas story,
This review is from: The Princess Present: A Princess Diaries Book (Princess Diaries, Vol. 6 1/2) (Hardcover)
Princess Mia is in Genovia for the Christmas holidays and she couldn't be more exited. Her boyfriend Micheal and his sister Lily, who also happens to be Mia's best friend, are in Genovia for the first time. Mia couldn't be me happy that she will be able to show them the country she will one day rule. She also has the perfect Christmas present for Micheal to enjoy and she can't wait for him to see it. Unfortunately things start going wrong before too long. Lily's attitude and her ways start causing problems immediately and soon all different kinds of situations start popping up. Mia begins to wonder if her perfect Christmas is set to be ruined. Can she make it all better again.
I am a big fan of the Princess Diaries series and I enjoy reading the little books that Cabot adds to the series. In my opinion this was probably the best one out of all of the little stories. Its defintely a nice holiday read for all fans of Princess Diaries. Definitely recommend it:)

A cute Princess Diaries Christmas story.,
This review is from: The Princess Present: A Princess Diaries Book (Princess Diaries, Vol. 6 1/2) (Hardcover)
Mia is spending Christmas at the palace in Genovia, and she is excited because her boyfriend, Michael, and her best friend, Lilly, will be visiting for the first time the country Mia will someday rule. She's also excited because she thinks she has finally found the perfect present for Michael, an original, near-mint condition Star Wars poster. But when Michael and Lilly arrive, disaster strikes, as Lilly causes trouble and refuses to follow the rules. Will Mia still be able to have the perfect Christmas? The many fans of Meg Cabot's Princess Diaries book are sure to love this cute and funny Christmas story about Princess Mia. It's rather short, but still a fun read for the holiday season.

Pretty good, but too short,

The story was cute, but it was way too short. Meg does best when she can flush out her characters a bit more. This short story gave us just a small tid bit and was sort of just a small bit of fluff. I love Meg's writing and her characters and would rather she just focus on doing quality pieces.

Wonderful 'Princess Diaries' Holiday Story,

This review is from: The Princess Present: A Princess Diaries Book (Princess Diaries, Vol. 6 1/2) (Hardcover)
Princess Mia is spending the holidays in Genovia, where she is forced to be the main attraction of a tree lighting ceremony, and must grace the country with her presence. Luckily, things aren't going to be too horrible, as Mia's boyfriend, Michael, and his sister (as well as Mia's best friend), Lilly, will be spending Christmas with her. Everything is going to be perfect, as Mia has even found the greatest present ever for Michael, a 1977 almost mint-condition Star Wars poster that he will just love. However, the moment Michael and Lilly show up in Genovia trouble starts, as bullheaded Lilly will follow none of the rules, and is completely ruining Christmas for everyone at the palace, including Mia.
Being a huge fan of THE PRINCESS DIARIES book series, I was ecstatic to find that a holiday book was being released. THE PRINCESS PRESENT is an enjoyable story told through diary entries by Genovia favorite Princess, Mia Thermopolis, dating from December 22 through December 25. Filled with hilarious blunders that the Princess and her family must face during the course of three days, as well as wonderful appearances from some of the most well-known royals in the world, this is sure to be a hit. Don't forget to place this book under the Christmas tree this year! Erika Sorocco Book Review Columnist for The Community Bugle Newspaper

I absolutly loved this book! I am a huge fan of the Princess Diaries books. This book isn't part of the Princess Diaries volume. It's more of an in between story to keep you updated on Mia. I thought that this was a great story. I read it in one day. Mia always makes me laugh. I think that this book will make a great present, and anyone at any age will enjoy reading it. There were a few very funny parts in the book[but I won't give that away]. Mia is exited that her best friend and boyfrind are coming to the Palace for christmas. But will it really be great? Or will there be some obsticles to overcome first? And will Mia be able to get the perfect gift for her boyfriend? Plus find out what Mia gets. If you have read any of the other Princess Diaries books, then you have to get this one. I know that you will really enjoy reading it.

A great Christmas read,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: The Princess Present: A Princess Diaries Book (Princess Diaries, Vol. 6 1/2) (Hardcover)
Mia is spending Christmas in Genovia, and she is so excited. Her boyfriend Michael and his sister, Mia's best friend Lilly, are coming to Genovia for a week. But will Lilly cause trouble? Will there be a Christmas surprise at the Palais de Genovia? And most importantly, can Mia find Michael the perfect present?
Four words: I loved this book! My only complaint was that it was a bit short (85 pages), but it was still hilarious and nicely written. Two thumbs up!!

Great story.,

Mia agrees to spend the holidays in Genovia if Michael and Lily are flown in to spend it with her to compensate for the grief she will feel at missing her new brother's first Christmas. All her lists are made; what she wants for Christmas, what to buy for everyone else, and what the palace staff is to do for her guests' comfort. Lists are little defense against real life. Everything about Lily seems to incite chaos, from her wardrobe, her scathing remarks about the luxury of the palace, to strip bowling with the young royals who are visiting. That latter scene alone is worth the price of the book for sheer lol power. However, almost every page does have sufficient hilarity to cause more than one smile.
***** Most of us are familiar with O'Henry's Gift of the Magi; Mia's twist on it is no less heartwarming but considerably more fun. Don't miss this book. Everyone needs light like this in their lives. ***** Reviewed by Amanda Killgore.

It's Christmas, and that means Mia has to spend the holiday in Genovia, away from Micheal...but think again! Micheal and Lilly gets to stay in her royal palace, and spend the holiday! It is Mia's first Christmas with Michael being her boyfriend, so she has to get him something special, but what? This book spends the time describing how Mia has to get Michael a Christmas present, but of course, there's a lot more to it!

Princess Mia is celebrating Christmas in Genovia with her Grandmere, father, and her visiting best friend Lily and boyfriend Michael. A touch of the Gift of the Magi and some soap opera in the form of rebellious Lily, the short novella is an nice addition to the series. It's interesting to see this wonderful heroine in the country she will one day rule. Grade: A-
