5.0 out of 5 stars An invaluable resource., March 24, 2000

The effort of preparing for and applying to medical school is a momentous task. Any resource that aids in this process is a much welcomed oasis. This is a very useful book in helping the prospective medical school student decide where to go and what choices will help get him or her there.

4.0 out of 5 stars Insight into medical school beyond grades and MCAT scores, June 22, 2000
By
AriesPA (Philadelphia, PA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Princeton Review: Best Medical Schools, 2000 Edition (Paperback)
The Princeton Review's book not only gives the average MCAT score and GPA for accepted medical students, but it also gives a description of what the medical school itself is like. There is information about student life, percentage of minorities and women, housing, and the way the medical classes themselves are structured. There is not that much concrete information about how to gain acceptance, but this book is worthwhile for those who want to know more about the school than the numbers it takes to get admitted.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good stats but no depth, July 3, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Princeton Review: Best Medical Schools, 2000 Edition (Paperback)
I have the old 1996 version of this book. I currenrtly bought the new one. Though an invaluable resource as many claim, it lacks depth and most of the information can be obtained by a little research and calling the school directly. This will help you get inside tips. My daughter in high school alerted me to a new book on the market which has depth, "From High School to Med. School." I suggest trying to buy that publication to add depth to this statistical resource.
