This set of diskettes is a wonderful introduction or review of the necessary information presented on standardized tests, such as the ACT, SAT, GRE, GMAT or the LSAT. I found these, Word Smart disks, most beneficial for reviewing terms introduced in high school, long forgotten and rarely used, as well as a way to improve my vocabulary.

It works by introducing different word groups along with their definitions, after providing the definitions the words are used in a sentence. After all terms in a section are introduced they are used in a humourous story relaying appropriate use and context. This only served to reiterate what was learned in the initial body of information.

These CD's are particularly beneficial for those students who, like me, are constantly on the go. Because of their portability it is easy to fit in learning the words any time and anywhere. With more students using Ipods , MP-3 players, minidisc and other such portable devices this is wonderful. The cd's can stay at home and remain unmarred and the data can go with you on whatever device you have. I have a mini disc player and the entire selection, along with Grammar Smart Junior, fit on 1 & 1/2 disks using LP4 mode.

Grammar Smart is almost like the modern day SchoolHouse Rock without the graphics. Going over adjectives, adverbs, idioms, conjunctions, etc., not quite Schoolhouse Rock but certainly a valuable tool for learning or relearning the basics of good grammar. The entire series of Word Smart and Grammar Smart products are loads of fun. Grammar Smart Junior is good for the little ones too! All in all, a valuable product that can benefit any user by increasing their vocabulary or cleaning up their act, their grammar act, that is.

When I first got this audio book, I was a little nervous that it was going to be overwhelming and littered with obscure, little-used words. What a surprise to find a plethora of words I thought I already knew plus a prodigious amount of words I didn't--and always wondered what they meant! If you're looking for something that's easy to digest, learn, and recall later, buy this book. You won't be disappointed and you can't help but learn something new.

I homeschool my 15 yr old granddaughter, using this program to help expand and improve her grammar and vocabulary has been wonderful. We work on one area a week and then use the words in writing, speech ect through the week. This has been a lot of fun and made learning "the hard words" much easier for both of us!
We use the program about 15 to 30 minutes a day.

This is a great foundation for the verbal GRE. The word list is limited, but the format facilitates retention of the material.
I would certainly recommend this as part of the GRE study program.

Great for someone in junior high, high school or someone who is learning English as a second language. It would be better if the words were more difficult. The immature stories are hard to enjoy. Word Master is better.

I love these CDs! They make learning fun. Even my children enjoy the amusing vignettes, guessing the correct definitions, and pronouncing the words. Nice job!

This is a wonderful way to enhance your vocabulary. The two people who do the voices are fun to listen too. I listen while I drive in traffic and I have really been impacted by the new knowledge of words! It makes such a difference when conversing, having a larger vocabulary.

I have always wanted to improve my vocabulary, both for personal and professional reasons. This program has been a tremendous help and I recommend it to anyone interested in boosting their vocabulary.

this has helped me with my grammar. My grammar has improved. I would recommend this to others who are having trouble. I have not yet begun to learn the new words, but I plain on starting soon.

I like the product but there is too much unnecessary talk. I think the subject matter can be presented in a very simple form. I didn't really care for the alien story without a belly button. It was really annoying and distracting.

I would really like the Grammar CD to cover the Grammer rules and use of articles. As English is not my first language,I am dying to learn to express myself in English clearly. This CD has not helped me to the extent I needed.
