Product Description

Amazon.com

The SL90 19-inch LCD monitor by Princeton Graphics is at the head of its class in many ways. Featuring dual (analog and digital) inputs for maximum versatility, the SL90 combines sharp 1,280 x 1,024 native resolution with a fine 0.294 mm dot pitch and a 600:1 high contrast ratio for gorgeous images in any setting. But what really sets this monitor apart is its Multi Domain Pixel Technology, which provides super-wide 170-degree viewing angles for distortion-free images anywhere in the room, regardless of whether the panel is in portrait or landscape orientation.

The SL90 features simple plug-and-play setup, a Kensington lock for added peace of mind; and it can even be wall mounted (bracket not included). The SL90 is compatible with both PC and Mac operating environments, and is backed by a three-year warranty on parts and labor.

From the Manufacturer

This 19-inch TFT-LCD Panel is about equivalent to a 21-inch CRT, in terms of viewable image size and recommended resolutions. Multi-Domain Pixel Technology (with Vertically Aligned LCD) allows for super wide viewing angles in both landscape and portrait modes. The monitor delivers crisp text, unlike the majority of other LCDs where dark lines are visible.

Automatic Auto Adjusting delivers crisp text and aligns image from edge to edge. The 1,280 x 1,024 native resolution is capable of scaling to lower resolutions. 25ms video response time means optimal playback of multimedia movie clips, video editing, spreadsheet, word processing, and playing games. The DVI connector is compatible with DVI digital video standard. Digital signal provides superior front-of-screen performance without requiring additional adjustments. The monitor is also compatible with DFP graphic cards (with an optional adapter).

VESA wall/arm mount ready, the monitor has wall and arm mount capabilities for space saving and custom application environments (75mm x 75mm bracket not included). A Kensington Security Lock Port provides asset protection in public accessible areas. A limited warranty protects for a full three years on parts, labor, and backlight.

I bought two Princeton Graphics 18 inch monitors for a dual monitor set up. One monitor lasted 6 months. Since it was under warranty they said they would replace it. A replacement was sent that was dead on arrival. Another to replace that one was sent. Again dead on arrival. A third monitor was sent. You got it, DOA. Finally the fourth monitor arrived and is now functional. After two weeks the other monitor in my two-monitor set up failed. That means a total of 4 dead monitors. I expect the replacement monitor to fail at any time and since they are now out of warranty, I will be buying new monitors less in less than 16 months of use. Avoid this company's products.

I didn't buy this model...I brought the VL173 17 inch LCD monitor. It had a 1 year warrantee. 3 months after it went off warrantee, the monitor started exhibiting a one inch column of pulsing vertical banding. I called Princeton to see what I needed to do to repair it. They said the monitor was failing and there was nothing they could do. They won't work on any of their products that aren't covered anymore. They wouldn't make any suggestions as to what I should do. Just Adios and tough luck. I'll never purchase from this company again.

It's bad that Princeton Digital (formerly known as Princeton Graphics) sells this "value" line of LCD monitors called the SL series, because their prices are often higher than the company's much better SENergy series. Do not buy an SL-series monitor; do check out Princeton's SENergy products.
