4.0 out of 5 stars Great product with one problem ..., January 6, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I'm an aircraft mechanic by trade, I use the Yukon headlamp almost every night. I like the choise of L.E.D. and Xenon lamps, both give good light to various situations I find myself in.

Good quality and durability, overall an excellent product.

My problem has been with the L.E.D.'s Sometimes they go to flickering, and that is annoying. Us customers cannot remove them or replace them, so we have to return the unit to Princeton Tec for repair/replacement. Please save the box and information that comes with the headlamp should this happen to you.

I have called them and spoke to their customer service. Challenged them to buy a better quality of L.E.D.

The Xenon bulb is bright, it goes through batteries fast, and I have only found the replacement bulb on Brightguy.com Yet, only once have I had a headlamp that needed this bulb change, and it changes out easilly. Not a complaint there.

I am of the opinion that they will soon discontinue the Yukon.

I own two Yukons. I like them. I'd give it a five star if it wasn't for the L.E.D. but again readers, my usage may be extreme compared to your situation ... I put hunderds of hours of use on this headlamp. I sometimes have harsh chemicals and sealants and such on my fingers when turning on this lamp, and I've had not one failure of the switch feature, or getting water inside if it's raining ... the straps hold up very well.

Only wanted to offer you a heads-up about the flickering L.E.D. bulb, yes there's more than one, but if one is flickering it can be very annoying. Steve in Indianapolis.

5.0 out of 5 stars my favorite tool, October 18, 2010
i bought this headlamp about 2 years ago and could not be happier with the purchase.i use it around the house and in the attic doing wiring jobs and everywhere else i need light and handsfree.the center led looks like a regular bright flashlight but i like the three other led's too, they put out a different kind of light i find easier to see when working on things plus they light everything up in the area and the batteries last alot longer as well.its built well, very durable, very high quality, can't say enough good things about it.if it ever does break which i doubt i would buy another one just like it in a heartbeat.the center led is more like long range and the 3 leds are for short range.anyhow if your looking for a nice headlamp then you can't go wrong with this one.have a good day
