3.0 out of 5 stars Might be helpful, July 10, 2006
This review is from: Princeton University: Off the Record (College Prowler) (College Prowler: Princeton University Off the Record) (Paperback)
This book is intended for students trying to make a decision about where to attend college. If you have already decided to attend Princeton and are seeking advice about courses, what to expect, etc., this is not the book for you.

If you are in the decisionmaking process, the book might be of some help. Its major advantage is that it was written based on the opinions of current students of the university--a perspective more relevant and helpful than that of professors or admissions offices. There is a wide sampling of quotes in each category (academics, social life, and so on), along with a "grade" in that category. However, there is no explanation of the process used in selecting the quotes or determining the grades. If you want a wide smattering of perspectives, this is worthwhile. There is also a helpful guide to restaurants, sights, and so on. But I would seek more substantial guidance in making a college decision.

I found a lot of good insight into the school in this book. I'm definitely wary of some of the generalizations though because I'm afraid the book was not written from a large sample of opinions.
