Was undoubtedly an excellent textbook when published if a little US-centric for European audiences. The pace of change has just made many of the sections an interesting sideline on technology history - for example who remembers WAP? And more to the point who cares? 3G is considered an interesting development in the future and broadband doesn't even get a mention. I remember a lot of the stuff in this book but for the iPhone/iPad generation it will have little or no relevance.
