Editorial Reviews

Review

"This textbook teaches students how to DO cost accounting; how to account for materials, labor and FOH, and how to use job order, process, and standard costing."

"We like the conciseness, how it is well focused, relevance and the ten chapter format. The directed assignments in the chapters are excellent."

This is my second electronic textbook and the first one I've experienced on my Kindle. I love how interactive the Kindle edition of this text is. I love the x-ray view with notes and vocabulary. I really love that there are extra help videos to further explain some of the harder concepts too!! As far as textbooks go I really think this one tops the list of my favorites!

A great book on Cost Accounting. To complete my Associate Degree in Finance I was looking for this course which has been offered in my college after a long time. This book is wonderful and written in a manner that anybody with basic knowledge of accounting can understand and learn Cost Accounting easily.

I think that the example in the book doesn't clearly defined on how to work the problem. It makes it very difficult to try and work some of the assignments that we can't figure out how some of the amount came into play

Poorly written. Explanations are convoluted, and examples are either over simplified, ill-explained, or not included.
Would have appreciated an online resource to compliment the material.
According to the professor, a fair bit of the information is not applicable in practice, which means that by studying/learning the book material, one is NOT well prepared for the real deal. :(

Awful book. It doesn't give you examples of what they want in the problems you have to work. Does not explain things in lamins terms. If you're an accountant, I'm sure you'd understand it.

It is what it is. Fairly basic coverage of the material. Decent examples. Albeit a bit boring. Still, it is a text book, not a novel.
