I just had a chat with a senior Biology professor at my university; turns out that this 12th edition was merely an "obligatory" release. Meaning, the publishers put out the update merely to make more money. The content and layout is virtually identical to the older 11th edition with very few revisions. Frivolous updates to skirt the used-textbook market and push more profit to publishers is what has earned this book a low rating.

In short, waste you're money; go with the 11th edition.

This textbook is amazing. The information therein is well-written but also simple enough for a beginner in Human Anatomy to follow. The diagrams and drawings are very detailed and informative. I am very pleased to own this guide.

This is a textbook I am using for a college anatomy class. So far it is very useful as it includes easy to read an understand material with lots of real life dissections to lok at and diagrams to explain complicated topics.

This book is identical to 11th edition.
I learned that Professors at colleges are not allowed to recommend any other book or even last edition of this book, they are obliged to insist on this triple priced rip-off book. That doesn't sound like a freedom of choice! Just letting poor students "with this book requirement" to know that this book is the way to rip your money off.
Go with used 11th edition or boycott this one!

This is probably my favorite college book yet. It's huge, heavy, and has tons of information. Great visuals and everything is laid out and organized very well. I know I was buying it used and got it for a good price but the book smells like formaldehyde. At least I know the previous owner really used it!

Great textbook! Pictures are very clear and offers both illustrated and real pictures to offer two different perspectives. Offers good examples too!
