As a student in a diagnostic coding course, I find this text much easier to understand than the one we were required to purchase. It explains the basics, provides examples, and offers several exercises. Although some of the answers in the back for the exercises aren't current because of this text's publication date, I still find this book's straightforward style and user-friendly format quite effective in teaching the principles of ICD-9-CM coding.

For as long as I'm in school and even in the future when I'm out of school, I will order my books from Amazon. I got such a great deal on my principle of ICD-9cm coding book. It was even brand new still in it's plastic wrapping. I saved around $40.00 on this book through Amazon and with the current economy that is great savings to me.
