Book Description

061896763X 978-0618967636 December 27, 2007 6
Popular for its coverage of modern policy issues, this clearly written text was the first to discuss long-run (macro) fundamentals before exploring short-term economic fluctuations. The Sixth Edition maintains the text's modern approach with concise yet thorough coverage of current economic theories. New co-author Akila Weerapana brings attention to the needs of today's students by thoroughly refreshing examples, applications, and end-of-chapter problems throughout the text. Streamlined content and pedagogy and the simplification of advanced topics make the material more accessible. Chapter 3, for example, now focuses solely on supply, demand, and market equilibrium, and boxed features have been realigned to maximize accessibility. John B. Taylor's recent service as Undersecretary of the Treasury for International Affairs strengthens the text's focus on policy issues and the international sector. Proven pedagogy includes Taylor/Weerapana's trademark Conversation boxes, providing students with succinct, step-by-step guidance through particularly difficult concepts.

5.0 out of 5 stars Useful and concise, August 4, 2011
This review is from: Principles of Macroeconomics - Sixth Edition (Paperback)
Usually I hate textbooks because of the fact that few are actually useful aside from giving definitions and general concepts, but this text actually helped me learn so for that I am actually going out of my way to recommend it. The book usually sets up the paragraphs with the point of the paragraph or section being the opening then leading into an example followed up by a real life application example which is useful since you can just read straight through and pick up the concept or definition step by step. The best part is that there is online stuff that you can use to study. I accidentally stumbled onto it, but that stuff helped since they're set up to be printed up and made into flash cards, if you're into that. I liked it. Anyways all in all if you have to take Macroeconomics then I think this is the best text to learn it with. It's cheap too especially when compared to my Microeconomics book which was over priced and dense. Ironically that book was written by Ben Bernanke AKA Fed. Bank Chairman and I found it to be useless. lol.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect Book, October 10, 2008
This review is from: Principles of Macroeconomics - Sixth Edition (Paperback)
I needed this Macroeconomics for college and it was perfect. The book got here sooner than I expected and it was in ideal shape. There were no tears, water stains or anything wrong. AND it was cheaper than the copy at my college bookstore. A great find.
