About the Author

Lawrence J. Gitman received his degrees from Purdue University, the University of Dayton, and the University of Cincinnati. He is currently a professor of finance at San Diego State University, and a prolific author with over forty published articles and several textbooks, including Principles of Managerial Finance, Twelfth Edition, and Principles of Managerial Finance, Brief, Fifth Edition.

In addition to teaching, Gitman is also a member of the Certified Financial Planner Board and an associate editor of several journals. He has served on a number of esteemed organizations, including the Academy of Finance Association and the Financial Management Association National Honor Society.

This is a terrible finance book if you are a beginner. I had to take this class for a Major that is not even in my field. I have zero background in this finance. Honestly I spent most of my time googleing concepts and other examples. The questions/problems at the end of the chapter do not following the examples explained in the chapter. Overall I think Gitman did an awful job explaining many concepts. I gave up reading the chapters and went to a few good finance websites to learn the covered chapters. Gitman loves to just through a bunch of useless vocabulary words out there and fails to truly explain concepts. I'm sure this would be a great book if you already had a solid background. Honestly, I would not pay for this book! It's a way over priced door stop and emergency toilet paper for me. PS it makes me sick that Lawrence J. Gitman stole my money by writing such as God awful book!

It was easy to order and a confirmation was sent out as soon as I was done ordering. I received the book fast- it only took 6 days to come after I ordered. The condition of the book is fair to good. There were some highlighting and the edges were a little worn. Overall, I'm very pleased of my purchase and would buy from this seller again.
