okay book,

This review is from: Principles of Microeconomics (Available Titles Coursemate) (Paperback)
This book's lightweight and contains what you need for a typical econ course. Definitions are not brief or concise. They ARE lengthy. This book is great when supplemented by a college-level course but don't expect it to teach you microeconomis.
Different editions are the practically the same thing (scam!), so buy the older edition if its cheaper and the professor is not too specific.

So, the U.S budget hasn't been balanced since 1969? Really!,

This book will help you appreciate current news on the Economy, leaving you with open questions wanting to know more. It helps you in your personal life, home economy of "your household", purchasing habits, and how not to spend while spending. It's not a book to carry around every where you go, but you can get a glimpse of world economies without getting upset, and come up with your personal solutions to improve your "personal economy", for example; "absolute advantage" and "comparative advantage" just might bring closer ties in family and friendships. My wife and her cousin learned this concep. They now bring home more groceries than the fridge can hold. Guys, it's not a lady thing either. Get the book, but don't trade it in! Keep it in your wallet! Chaplain Donald Perry, Dallas, TX

Best Microeconomics Textbook,
By
This review is from: Principles of Microeconomics (Available Titles Coursemate) (Paperback)
Greg Mankiw (Harvard University) is indeed one of the best writers when it comes to economics -- a fairly arcane and esoteric subject to most of the populace. Fortunately, Dr. Mankiw is able to break down the fundamental principles of macroeconomics and microeconomics in such a way that it becomes digestible to the average college-age reader. I would highly recommend this text book (as well as his other textbooks).

This review is from: Principles of Microeconomics (Available Titles Coursemate) (Paperback)
This book is identical to the first 22 chapters of the book "Principles of Economy" from the same author.I would suggest you to buy "Principles of Economy" instead, which contains 14 additional chapters.

The content is easy to understand. But there are no answers at the back of the book.

This book helped me get through my intro to microecon class even though my lecturer wasn't very good. The low price was very attractive.

I was interested in reviewing a slightly older version of the textbook I would need for the fall to guarantee I would enjoy this microeconomics class and it is very concise and easy to thumb through although dated by its 2008 publishing. No matter, its wonderful for my purposes.

This is a well written introduction to Microeconomics. It was engaging and easy to understand, with helpful examples and explanations.
The only problem is that it is becoming dated - this edition was written before the economic crisis, and doesn't deal with insights gained from that.
