4.0 out of 5 stars A non-econ major
I bought this book for an Intro to Micro-Econ class in college. I found that it was helpful, as it introduced and reinforced the basic principles that we were discussing in class. I wouldn't recommend it to someone outside of the classroom looking for some microecon knowledge, but it's not a bad book to study.

I've found this book is pretty useless, and that the only reason anyone buys it is because the authors assign these books to their classes (me being in one right now).

I've found this book is pretty useless, and that the only reason anyone buys it is because the authors assign these books to their classes (me being in one right now).
I haven't been able to find a single useful word in the dictionary all quarter (not even obvious basics like Fiscal Policy, Monetary Policy, full-employment model, just when i need a quick recap as im reading along). It seems to have been written from the perspective of someone who understands everything there is to know about macroeconomics and doesn't understand why anyone else won't understand it. I'm not an idiot, but the fundamentals aren't as logical as one would think.
The book also is generally fraught with contradictions which would hopelessly confuse all but the most attentive readers. I'm still rather confused about whether the 'dollar/peso' relationship is the same in nomenclature as the 'peso/dollar' relationship.. to be really technical, they should be mathematically completely different, yet the book makes no distinction. That is just one example of many. Its surprising considering that this is the fourth edition. I suppose they are economics professors, can't go wrong with publishing an extra edition every now and then..
I generally don't recommend this book to anyone who hasn't been directly assigned one, and even then you might want a different one just in case.
I'm studying for finals at the moment and so thought I'd leave a pretty honest (maybe slightly biased/pissed off) review while everything is still fresh in memory.
