5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Book and the reference for OS design principles, April 28, 1998
By A Customer
This is an excellent introduction to Operating Systems, the way they are designed, and the logic behind them. There's little wasted space, just solid, useful information. There an impressive effort of extracting the principles rather than focusing on technical details.

Each chapter focuses on a specific aspect of OS and it extracts the important information to know about. The chapters are clear and concise and there is also usefull exercises for those who want to learn more. There are useful examples provided that are very helpful.

I found this an excellent introduction to OS Principles specially adapted for (under) and graduate Students. For teachers, this is definetly a book to recommend to students and to use as a course plan.
