5.0 out of 5 stars Excelent for biomedical engineers
It's an extremely complete book, in both technical and clinical aspects in mechanical ventilation. Excelent material for biomedical engineers, specially for teaching doctors/nurses.

When you buy a Bible of mechanical ventilation, you expect answers to all the common questions. Now, I don't want to take anything away from Dr Tobin's Classic, but there are few areas which I and other pulmonary fellows feel should have been better addressed. The modes used very frequently in MICU these days include APRV and ASV. The book just mentions few paragraphs, and the reader has to refer to reviews from the Pubmed to get a better information regarding the application and troubleshooting. It would have been great if a separate chapter was devoted to these very user friendly but least understood modes of MV in this mammoth text.
