Just perfect!,
By Theodore Liolios (Greece) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Principles of Stellar Evolution and Nucleosynthesis (Paperback)
A standard introductory textbook of nuclear astrophysics written by a real expert in a superb style. It has taught nuclear astrophysics to most of us and will teach many more. I keep refering to it all the time. It is my favorite. I warmly recommend it.

A standard reference on stellar structure and evolution,

This review is from: Principles of Stellar Evolution and Nucleosynthesis (Paperback)
"Principles of Stellar Evolution and Nucleosynthesis" is a standard work on stellar structure and evolution. It is clearly written and approachable even by a senior undergraduate. It is a "must" for anyone seriously interested in stellar astrophysics.

essential,
By Dr Jay "ljison" (Chicago, IL United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Principles of Stellar Evolution and Nucleosynthesis (Paperback)
Classic text and essential primer for understanding stellar evolution and nuclear astrophysics. This was a required supplementary text for my upper division undergraduate course, but can be used in for a graduate course as well. Clayton provides some good, worked-out example problems with hints and the solution provided in the text. Arriving at the given solution still provides a challenge to the student. There are no end of chapter problems, so if you are a professor looking for a text with homework problems you may want to use another text as your primary. However, if your ultimate goal is that your students understand the material, this text should at least be on your 'recommended reading' list.

This review is from: Principles of Stellar Evolution and Nucleosynthesis (Paperback)
Prof. Clayton did an excellent job with this text, and it still sits on my bookshelf. It's clear, well-written, and covers nucleosynthesis, stellar, and galactic chemical evolution. However, it's really quite dated now and I would hesitate to recommend it as an introduction now.

Please create an audio adaptation ...,
This review is from: Principles of Stellar Evolution and Nucleosynthesis (Paperback)
To the publisher I would appreciate it if the publisher could produce an audio adaptation of this book. I would love to listen to this while I drive to work and to let my 16 month old son listen to it as a bedtime story. Arnold D Veness
