I had the Print Artist 4.0 and decided it was time to update. I recieved my new program today and it is super! The photo editing is just what I was looking for. I can now do so much with my photos in this program. The art images are out of this world! The best ever is the "Freedom" art collection they have included. No need for a different program to make CD labels as this program has it all! As always Sierra has come out with an easy to use program. When they say "No Experience Necessay" they mean it! Super program, you can't go wrong with this one!

The program would not print the complete greeting card for either the half fold or the quarter fold. On a quarter fold card, if I had something on each of the four faces, it would print only 2 or 3 of the faces. On half fold, it would print just one face. This occured on the 5 or 6 I tried. Technical support could now solve the problem and authorized me to return it for a complete refund. I had Print Artist 4.0 that was great but won't run on the new computer with Windows XP

I'm startled to find that someone with Internet access and a problem with software would NOT go to the home page of the publisher and get help. The "printing problem" spoken of (in the review below mine) is easy to fix, though tedious to implement (you must apply the fix to each project face you are printing). Please go to the Support area of Sierra Home (the publisher) to download the fix.

Meanwhile, this software is a bit long in the tooth and Sierra is not a very good owner but the product has a loyal, devoted following amongst hobbyists who enjoy printing projects. It is powerful enough that some ladies have started successful home businesses using PrintArtist.

The included professional designs can act as a whole course in layout if you dissect and study them. When was the last time you saw a two or four year apprenticeship in a trade for thirty dollars? And they deliver it right TO your house! C'mon, it's a steal.

This newest edition finally seems to run well on Windows XP, though there are still a few machines around with minor Install troubles. Again, visit the Sierra site for support fixes.

PrintArtist was developed from the ground up as a great little OBJECT ORIENTED graphics package, which distinguishes it from its brethren. Nothing is tacked on. The interface is easy and usable, accessible to bright 8-10 year olds. This is not a trivial achievement. I tested a more expensive package just yesterday that was so poorly thought out, I could hardly see the design on the page in its default settings.

Most of the included graphics are not world class but a lot of the "art" made with such programs ends up on refrigerator doors anyway. There's nothing wrong with the basic TOOL and I'd encourage any professional or aspiring designer of ANYTHING to buy this package and diddle with it. It will do 85-95% of what a lot of extremely expensive software will do and gives all generations in your family the chance to exercise their creativity. I've owned and used all the small graphics programs as well as the big ones like Xara and Photoshop. PrintArtist makes the Top Three List.

I've used my Print Artist kit and love it. It has so many features that are simple and easy to use. Doesn't take long to get the hang of it. I would recommend it to all who like to do their own desktop publishing. Used the clip art for cartoon fish for my grandson's nursery walls. They turned out extraordinary. There is just no limit to the things you can use it for. Great product.

used to love all sierra programs; i have the ancient version 4 of Print Artist (I believe it number 4) on my home computer so i thought this new version would be an improvement for my office laptop - very disappointing - and yet there games are so awesome - don't get me wrong its ok, but not up to their game standards. and no where near as nice as the new Print Master 15 (DVD) -

after using print artist 4.0 version... this new upgrade requires the knowledge of an EINSTEIN. Where are the printed manuals we used to obtain in past years? Its sad to have to figure out step-by-step how? what? where? .This took me time to figure out....DO I INSTALL THE 6 CD'S ENCLOSED? DO I STOP INSTALLING WHEN CD # 3 TOLD ME TO STOP? If I did not have the highest respect for Print Artist... I would surely have given up by now. It had taken me 2-3 hours to figure the software out. still having problems. My advice... IF you are a novice

I had an older version of Print Artist and just purchased version 2003. My wife tried to print a simple card she made with disastrous results. After some investigation I found that this is a known bug which Sierra refuses to fix since they have discontinued this product. The program simple does not work. I learned of a complicated workaround where you put a transparent gif on every page to make it print correctly. I tried to return the product to Amazon but my 30 days had just run out and the only recourse was to sell a faulty program to some other unsuspecting person which I won't do.

I have Print Artist 4.0, but now have windows xp so need to update my package. I need some advice whether Gold or Deluxe is better??? The 6 CD's on deluxe is putting me off. Is it as easy to use as 4.0?? -Basically can anyone use Deluxe? Or is it for the more experienced wiz kid??
