this movie will make you cry, October 30, 2007
This review is from: The Printing (VHS Tape)
It made me.
This movie is something I do not advise for younger children, there are some very violent contents.
but the truth is there--- the truth we don't really see now a days among the 'modern' christians.
it's all about standing up for what you know(not what you think) is right.
And believing the bible word for word, not leaving out a single detail.
it's about the printing of the bibles under the noses of the Soviet Union, and the people who cared enough to suffer to carry out the truth.
May this movie enlighten you; it did me.

Great story and production, November 20, 2009
This review is from: The Printing (VHS Tape)
It is an amazing story that the other reviewers have also commented on positively. But you should also know that it is a great production; especially when you consider it's the product of a low-budget movie department at a small college not especially renowned for the arts. The acting was superb, very convincing. Who'd've thought that Bob Jones II could be a terrific KGB general? We watched the movie with a friend from Ukraine, who lived during the Soviet era. He was totally convinced by the enumerable production details that it was actually filmed in a Russian town: the authentic city bus, the authentic water dispenser machine with common cup, the Russian village-style houses, the old ladies carrying their "just-in-case" bags. Well, it was filmed in 1987, and you can be certain it was NOT done in any Soviet-controlled town. Don't let your opinion of Bob Junes university keep you from enjoying this very exciting thriller. And non-Christians will enjoy plenty as well.
