5.0 out of 5 stars Delightful New Children's Book
Young Priscilla lives on a planet where everything is pink. The sky is pink, the grass is pink. Why, even Priscilla's cheeks are pink. 3.0 out of 5 stars Very cute, but.....
Priscilla is an adorable character. The story also just as cute, there is a whole lot of Dr. Seuss influence! However, (to me)the rhymes just do not flow very well. I have read this book several times to my daughter and it is always the same thing. But over all it is a fun story.

This review is from: Priscilla and the Pink Planet (Hardcover)
Young Priscilla lives on a planet where everything is pink. The sky is pink, the grass is pink. Why, even Priscilla's cheeks are pink. Sure, pink is a lovely color, but when it's the only one, it can get quite boring. So, Priscilla sets out to find a new place in the world where pink is just one of many colors, and soon she is brought on a magical adventure filled with Queen's, butterflies, and colors.

In the footsteps of Dr. Seuss, Nathaniel Hobbie has created an utterly delightful new children's book filled with a wonderful verse that will hold even the most reluctant reader's attention. His wonderful rhymes are descriptive, as well as imaginative, and coincide fantastically with Jocelyn Hobbie's gorgeous illustrations which truly bring PRISCILLA AND THE PINK PLANET to life. This is a must-have book for all families, whether their children are young or old, that will ultimately go down in children's book history.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful book especially if your child loves the color pink!, July 4, 2006

This review is from: Priscilla and the Pink Planet (Hardcover)
My daughter's favorite color is pink so she loved this story about a girl who lives on a pink planet and only sees the color pink. It is a fun book that teaches the appreciation of colors and also has a great rhyme.

5.0 out of 5 stars Read Priscilla to the BOYS, too!, March 25, 2008
Gosh, why do people only want to read this book to girls? It's a great, great book that happens to star a girl. And yes, she lives on a pink planet. So? My son loves this book and so do I (his father...). I wouldn't hesitate to read "Where the Wild Things Are" to my daughter, I don't know why anyone would shrink from reading "Priscilla" to their sons. Great pictures, great text--just read it with your kid(s)!

We've read this new book to our 3 1/2 year old daughter SEVERAL times today - she adores it! The Seuss-like rhymes work perfectly with Priscilla's quest across this witty, ever-pink planet. Folks tall & small in our house thoroughly enjoyed how Priscilla's clever observation encourages the Queen of Pink to share the rainbow of colors with everyone. A very good & clever book!

I really do adore her. She's wonderful. Great rhythm. Great rhyme. Smart. Fun. Spunky. And the illustrations are the same. This book is one of my favorite gifts for little girls.

5.0 out of 5 stars WELL DONE!!!! WHAT A FUN NEW BOOK!!!, March 3, 2005
By
This review is from: Priscilla and the Pink Planet (Hardcover)
This is such a great book! Though it is probably geared more for a little girl than a boy, my son absolutely loves it! I can read it to him again and again and it makes him grin from ear to ear with excitement each time. The rhymes are fun to sing aloud, and the story teaches the beauty of diversity. This book is destined to become a classic! I can't wait to see what the Hobbies have in store for Priscilla next!

This is a great book for young girls. Even though neither of my two daughters, ages 4 and 6, care much for the color pink, they both loved this book! I agree with the other review that it is along the lines of Dr. Seuss. It's very fun to read and the illustrations are interesting (even when they are all pink!)This book will be a gift to all the little girls I know this Christmas!

5.0 out of 5 stars Who Would Not Love "Pink?", November 1, 2004

Reviewed by Carolyn Howard-Johnson, MyShelf reviewer and columnist and award-winning author of This is the Place, Harkening: A Collection of Stories Remembered and The Frugal Book Promoter.

As the grandmother of two little girls, ages 4 and 7, who love all things pink, how could I not be attracted to Priscilla for Priscilla lives in a world of pink. She also lives in a world of Seusian rhymes and Seuss-like illustrations by Joscelyn Hobbie that fit the story and copy perfectly.
