Product Description

The Jazz is the perfect intro to the addictive sport of dual line kiting. Simple, rugged and affordable, the Jazz outperforms every entry level kite in its class and flies with the ease and control of a larger kite. It’s a zippy little wing that packs up small, so take it everywhere. Leave it in the car, at the beach house, strapped to your motorcycle... because you never know when the wind will urge you to head out for a fly. The Jazz’s deep wing profile and tough glass/carbon hybrid frame means you can hand it off to anyone - your kids, your sweetie, or that interested bystander - and know you’ll get it back in one piece. In the air, it’s quick but remarkably stable and easy to control, even for a low-time pilot. Engineered and built to the same obsessive standards as our top-end equipment, it’s a simple, compact little gem that will get you up and flying with a grin. Designed for beginners, the Jazz has a 55-inch wing span but folds down to 25 inches long so it can be packed in a suitcase or backpack. Easy instructions are printed on the kite’s case so they're always handy. Quick, stable, and easy to control, the kite will fly in winds as low as 5 mph, a plus for inland pilots, and also perform in winds up to 25 mph, a plus for beach pilots. The kite's ready-to-fly package includes Spectra lines, flight straps and line winder.

Great beginners kite I would highly recommend it!
mushi
It takes the unexpected crashes really well and despite it being so small in high winds it can develop a bit of pull.

If you are thinking about getting a stunt kite this is a great learning kite!

This is a great kite for the first time pilot. It has everything you need to get started; cool case, lines, and easy assembly instructions. It takes less then a minute to get together and launch! It's durable and can zip around the sky pretty good.

It's on the small side so it doesn't pull in the wind as much as bigger kites; so it's prefect for young kids, or young adults just starting to learn to fly. It's strong and can take some crashing from the first time pilot, as to be expected when learning.

The Quantum by Prism would also be another great beginner kite, which is bigger and has more pull from the wind.

You'll enjoy this kite!

a great kite. my 7 year old son had a great time with it at the beach. you need to read the tips on how to adjust the attachment of the line to the kite to achieve the best flying. however, it is not too complex to have fun.

The kite flys fine when the string is not breaking. I took it out for its maiden flight today and after the second flight I noticed the right string kept stretching. By the third flight it was almost 10 inches longer than the left line. I cut it and retied it to match the length of the left line. Flew for a minute, then the line broke, and not even close to where I retied it. So I retied it again (and the left line to match the shorter right line). Flew it and the right line broke again, and no where near the retied area. I'm done until I can find a better line to re-tie both lines with. Note: I was flying in 5 to 15 mph winds, so no way the line should break in those conditions.

The Jazz is similar to the Nexus that I have, but the Jazz is a little more stable for starting out. It's not as fast or reactive as the Nexus, but still has great construction and durability.

It's very affordable for an true entry level quality stunt kite!

This is a great little kite, i bought it to learn and I've got to say it has delivered hours of fun and learning. It takes the unexpected crashes really well and despite it being so small in high winds it can develop a bit of pull. Perfect for anyone looking to get in to dual line kites.

This is my second Prism kite and first dual line. As with my parafoil stowaway the kit is well made and is just waiting to be flown. All went well at first. I had a good wind and was impressed with the pull of the kite. This is my first dual line kite and as such I crashed it twice. Not sure which crash caused the main center spine to break. I would suggest the Snapshot parafoil for beginners since there is nothing to break from accidents. Prism does offer replacement parts on their website.

Oct-2013 Update:
I picked up a replacement spine and have flown this kite several times now. One day at the beach and I was getting the hang of it. No super tricks yet. It is a lot of fun and I'm waiting for the delivery of my Prism Snapshot 1.9. Almost got a Tensor 5 on ebay.

Another review mentioned the string stretching and mine has this same issue. I've had to retie the line shorter twice.

Mar-2014 Update:
I love this kite now that I know what I'm doing. Bumped up the star rating. I suggest learning about the wind window before flying. Lots of videos and tutorials on YouTube. So much fun.

I bought this for my son, 9, and for myself. Spent a week at the beach with several other families and this kite is easy for us beginners to get into the sky. It provided hours of fun every day. This is the first stunt kite any of us had flown so it took a lot of abuse. It took about 50 - 80 hard nose dives when the center spar finally broke. I will get a replacement and have learned that people often bring spare parts for their kites.

I would highly recommend this kite, it is very well made and perfect for the beginner. After a week of playing with I am ready to try one of Prisms mode advanced kites.
