5.0 out of 5 stars She is an inspiration to anyone in this situation., May 4, 2005

This review is from: A Prison of My Own (Paperback)
I have seen first hand the Love of God at work in Diane and her children. I have been priviledged to be one of Mariah's 5th grade teachers and have watched her change and grow into a confident pre-teen. There is a peace about this family that can only come throught the Grace of God. The book is an inspiration to anyone who has had to face this walk. It is well written in a easy to read riviting style. I couldn't put it down. Blessings on this family!

5.0 out of 5 stars Never give up, September 18, 2005
This review is from: A Prison of My Own (Paperback)
I couldnt put this book down till I got to the end. It is a life changing story of hope and forgiveness. By never giving up, you can heal and you can bring a family back together again after what seemed would be impossible, at one time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gripping, May 5, 2005
This review is from: A Prison of My Own (Paperback)
Seldom have I read a book that so completely held my interest, page after page, that had trouble putting it down. The TV and computer stood idly by until I had finished this gripping story. There's a stirring message here for everyone,

5.0 out of 5 stars Captivating, February 1, 2006

It is a true story. Diane writes with a style that captures your imagination. After my husband read it, he kept referring to is as "the movie". I understand. One can picture the characters, even understand them. Because Diane described the players in an honest and compassionate way, it's easy to imagine forgiving any of their weaknesses. One benefit of describing people that way is that one can identify with each of the characters. We all have our "addictions", our sins, our struggles. Even if we have overcome them sooner, so as not to get caught, we can know just what it feels like to be in this story. In understanding all of the actors in this play, I have learned that others have emotional pain, too, not just me. Diane is the author that should write biographies, and not waste too much time on fiction.

5.0 out of 5 stars Evidence of God's Work, May 5, 2005
By
This review is from: A Prison of My Own (Paperback)
This a an amazing true story of a family whose lives were nearly destroyed by a thoughtless act of the husband and father. It is evidence that by putting their trust in God and the teachings of Jesus Christ people can turn their lives around to have a productive and fruitful future. The book is well written and easy to read and instills a sense of confidence that no matter how "bad"
or unfortunate a situation may be, there is always hope through belief in our Saviour. I commend Diane for writing it and wish the family Grace, Peace and Love.

5.0 out of 5 stars The most moving and powerful book you will EVER read, January 16, 2006
By
This review is from: A Prison of My Own (Paperback)
Much like the other readers, I could not put this book down. From beginning to end it had my utmost undivided attention. Diane's story was so moving and intense. I couldn't get it out of my mind for weeks. An amazing story of an amazing woman and her power to overcome what some may consider impossible. This book is a great inspiration for those who doubt the power of forgiveness or feel that they can never forgive. This book will truly inspire you.

5.0 out of 5 stars A courageously written memoir, December 5, 2005
This review is from: A Prison of My Own (Paperback)
This is a courageously written memoir that bares a woman's soul, an entrancing read that is difficult to put down. Diane Nichols writes this book for any of us who have faced the unforseen, who have longed to speak the unspeakable, who have ached to say what we want to keep hidden in the very depths of our being. By putting into words her deepest thoughts and feelings, she lends courage to the reader, to carry on when life seems unbearable, to live, as she herself says, "a life of redemption and forgiveness." This tale is a deeply personal story with universal themes that can redeem us all from the prisons of our own judgements and doubts. Thank you, Diane!

5.0 out of 5 stars A God sized miracle, August 10, 2005

"A must read by anyone who has ever needed to forgive or be forgiven. As I read the excerpt from Diane's book on this web-site, I knew I had to have it. Even then I felt excited to get to the conclusion. I couldn't put it down. To an extent, this book was written for me. God placed this book in my life, I didn't just "happen to find it." I have been able to look at my own circumstances and see things more clearly. To see that, with Gods help, even the unforgivable can be forgiven. The healing and forgiving process is not an easy road to travel. "Prison of My Own" is a great place to start or continue the journey down that road to healing. Diane and her family have a testimony that is truly the results only God can achieve."

5.0 out of 5 stars Love, lies, and lessons, January 7, 2006
This review is from: A Prison of My Own (Paperback)
Diane Nichols' scathingly honest portrayal of betrayal and forgiveness is a cautionary tale. When good people do bad things, how do we react? How do we get past the pain and get on with our lives? Though Diane's story is very personal, the life lessons in the book are for everyone.
