5.0 out of 5 stars Makes Bukowski sound like he had an easy life, August 1, 1998
By A Customer
Oh, how you need this. If you are a fan of Burroughs...you do not want to overlook SJ Bernstein...the music is largely a cool jazz sort of thing, but most importantly the man's words sound clear in his own voice. A voice that was heard at the last concert of Big Black, a voice which will seep into your soul and keep you up at night... He has three books out that I know of as well...he was an amazing and painful writer...don't miss out. With his suicide we lost more than we will ever know...because like the title of his last book says, he was "Secretly an Important Man."

5.0 out of 5 stars insane genius, March 8, 2007
Steven Bernstein was completely unhinged and used that freedom to observe the world from strange points of view and with a level of perception and honesty that is a little disturbing. awesome.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Unique Masterpiece of Words, September 18, 1998
By A Customer
Don't be afraid, this poetry will not hurt you. When most people hear Steven Berstein's voice, they get frightened because of it's deep, harsh tone. Keep listening! This is an important voice that will enlighten your sense of imagination, make you laugh, get nervous, and maybe change the way you think or see the world.
