Here's how to save your money,
By A Customer
This review is from: Privacy Technologies TeleZapper (Office Product)
Yes, telezapper will work in many cases & will reduce the # of solicitors. But, save your money - simply record the 3 tones for disconnected lines onto your answering machine - you WILL get the same results. I did and went from averaging about 6 calls per day to one. About 5 minutes of surfing led me to a web site that had these tones. The description about this box doesn't tell you exactly what it does for good reason - you don't need it!

Telemarketing Eliminator,
By Fred Gold (Canton, Ohio) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Privacy Technologies TeleZapper (Office Product)
Now that I work out of my house I became aware of all of the telmarketing phone calls we were receiving and it became very annoying.I purchased a Telezapper and installed it on one of our phone lines in the house. Immediately I began to see the Telezapper do it's job since I got 4 calls the first day that were Zapped. You can tell when this happens because you get no sound when you answer the phone as the device signals the telemarketng computer that our phone number has been disconnected. In just 2 weeks we notice a marked decrease in the number of unsolicited calls. We may only be getting one a day and we expect that number to decrease as the Telezapper continues to do it's job. The cost is insignificant compared to peace and quiet.

TeleZapper doesn't work.,
By A Customer
This review is from: Privacy Technologies TeleZapper (Office Product)
After I returned the TeleZapper that I bought from RadioShack because its annoying tones simply did not do the job promised, I was intrigued by the range of reviews other Amazon customers have encountered.Being an engineer, I became curious. why didn't the TeleZapper work for me? Or, how would I know that it really worked? A friend mentioned that the Telemarketing industry can easily update their predictive dialers to ignore the TeleZapper's tone generation technique. It turned out that this is the case for a widely used predictive dialer from Avaya, named "Mosaix". "The TeleZapper has absolutely no effect on the operation of the Mosaix Predictive Dialing System", according to an Avaya Sales Support Bulletin that I found on the Mosaix User's Group website. This finally cleared up my puzzlement about the TeleZapper. I have also investigated the Caller Id systems that some phone companies offer to enable privacy management services. They seem rather complicated to set-up and to use. In addition, I would have to pay monthly fees for these services forever. I am still looking for something to solve my unwanted telemarketer call problems. I have found another item on Amazon, named TriVOX. Its approach seems to be quite different. I am going to research it, and may post my findings on its review list.

Free to answer my phone again,
By Rob in Virginia (Annapolis, MD) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Privacy Technologies TeleZapper (Office Product)
Telezapper has become my favorite product of 2001.At our house, we had gotten into the habit of not even answering the phone, because there were so many telemarketing calls. (We'd rely on voicemail to communicate with friends and family.) But now, when I pick up the phone, it's someone I want to talk to ... or there is a click telling me I just zapped another telemarketer, which I find very satisfying indeed. Sort of like when a mosquito hits one of those electronic bug catchers. Others have written here that ($$$) is expensive for a device that merely emits a "disconnected" signal. Maybe the cost to manufacture is low ... but what's that got to do with it? Telezapper's value to me is many times greater than what I spent. It's worth it. The fact that USA has the world's best phone system helps to make our country great. That an entrepreneur invented and sells the Telezapper makes it even greater.

Is not compatible with my Siemens phone,
By A Customer

Here's what the manufacturer said:We have recently discovered that Siemens equipment is incompatible with the Telezapper. It has to do with the electrical components involved. I apologize for your inconvenience. Sincerely, Customer Service 12 1-800-373-6290 Monday-Friday 8AM-7PM EST

Does not work.,
By A Customer
This review is from: Privacy Technologies TeleZapper (Office Product)
I bought this hoping to end the deluge of computer generated telemarketer calls which interrupt meals and favorite T.V. shows etc. I paid the (...)price shown above. I had it plugged in for about 2 weeks and had the same amount of calls as before. It is supposed to zap a telemarketer if they repeat call you, but it does not. I have enhanced caller id so I know this is true. Myself and a co-worker had the same results and we both returned our telezappers to the place of purchase for refunds.

Hoopdy Hoop,

I really was't sure what I was getting with this. I mean the idea sounds great, no more calls from those annoying people. So I got it out of the box and hooked it up. This thing is tight. After pluging it in the calls seemed to almost stop. I do still get one or two annoying calls, but for the most part this thing is doing it's job. Give it a try, you'll be plesently suprised. It was cool.Big Truck

Doesn't work with all long distance calling cards,
By
This review is from: Privacy Technologies TeleZapper (Office Product)
My parents get a lot of phone calls from telemarketers, so I decided to give them the Telezapper for Christmas. Within a week after installing the Telezapper my parents noticed a severe drop in telemarketer phone calls. Unfortunately for me there is two down-sides to my parents having this device. First, I don't like the tone in my ear when I call my mom, but I will put up with it if it reduces those pesky sells people. Second, out of two of the long distance calling cards I use to call my parents one is "zapped" by the Telezapper. Within seconds after hearing the Telezapper tone when using one of my calling cards I'm disconnected. I have tried this card many times to call my parents, and the same thing happens every-time. I'm not having this problem when calling anyone else, so I know it is the Telezapper and not my calling card. I checked the Telezapper manufacturer's website, and they state that this could happen with some calling cards. They state that this could happen due to the type of equipment the calling card company is using.

I got really tired of all the junk calls so in an act of desperation I got one of these. I didn't expect it to actually work all that well but I am amazed to say that it has worked incredibly well! Junk calls are down to almost zero now (I haven't had one in a few weeks).

Works Great,
By "bmf1" (Covington, WA United States) - See all my reviews

I admit that I was skeptical at first about the ability of the Telezapper to actually reduce sales calls, but it has proven otherwise. I've owned it for only a month or so, and the unsolicited calls to the house have dropped tremendously. I love to pick up the phone and hear the hang up on the other end (telling me it's working). I'm sure that there will always be some method for telemarketers to contact me at home, but the Telezapper is definitely the best product out there to give them a run for their money. I recommend it because it does work!
