Should be required for every investigator,

This review is from: The Private Investigator's Legal Manual: (California Edition-Second) (Paperback)
This book is a must for every licensed private investigator (PI). There are many private investigators, however very few are attorneys AND licensed investigators. Mr. Queen draws from his knowledge of the law and applies it to common issues the modern investigator may come across. Every PI should have Mr. Queens book as a practical tool for the trade. Although Mr. Queen's book is intended as a reference for California PIs, PI and PI applicants in other states may find this book practical as some of the laws discussed cover federal rules. The applicable California Business and Professions code, Evidence code, and California Criminal Codes are covered in detail in hypothetical examples.

State of California,
This review is from: The Private Investigator's Legal Manual: (California Edition-Second) (Paperback)
I read the reviews, but apparently this pertains to California (state) not to the 50 states. I am glad someone wrote a review before i purchased it. I reside in Texas, any hints?

I passed the California PI license test on the first try after reading this book. I have over 30 years of law enforcement experience, but this book taught me all kinds of things I did not know. I don't think I would have passed the test without the valuable information. Mr. Queen goes over all kinds of things a law enforcement officer never deals with let alone thinks about. The book is an easy, understandable read.

Credit where credit is due, I believe that Mr Queen has written this extremely well and it is very informative. I have a Detective Agency in UK that has been operating since 1983, so you could say that I have a great deal of experience in the field. As I am also opening an office in LA I wanted to establish what the exam for a Californian license would cover, now having read the book I have a very clear picture of that. The only thing I would like to have seen in it would have been an example of test questions so we would know approximately how the questions are phrased and how many? More importantly I would like to have known if the answers to the questions have to also include the Penal Code Number and/or other legislation that may apply.
