Finally! Students get excited about plants!, November 19, 1998
This review is from: Private Life of Plants 3: Birds & Bees [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I've taught biology many years and found no way to interest students in plants--until I began using these videos. I even had students naming the unit as their favorite in the year end evaluation. By allowing students to see the actions of plants on a more familiar time scale, the videos reveal fascinating features of these organisms we usually take for granted. Just beautiful!

As usual in all David's Attenborough documentaries, Private Life of Plants is another step ahead in Documentaries. New filming techniques, and the work of Attenborough give us beautiful and amazing pictures that show us precisely the natural processes palnts must undergo in their lives. Speed up pictures, really close shots approach us to an insect point of sight and enables us to see exactly the delicately balanced interactions taht take place in plants world. A real must see.

I teach environmental horticulture to high school students and they are captivated by these videos. Definately, the best videos to be found on plants and their reproduction.

This is definitely the most wonderful natural history book I've ever read. All I knew about plants was in there and some things I never ever thought that exist , too. Sir Attenborough again had exceeded himself. Well done! END
