For once, the man seems more in love with the woman!, September 8, 2007
I really loved this book.
Story: the lead male is a race car driver named Rafael who jet-sets all over the world, is arrogant alpha-male but with a twist: he is head over heels in love with the lead female character, and his thoughts are also there for us to read (I really love this trend), which shows us that he deeply cares for this woman much more than he lets her realize. He even bends over backwards at times, to try to get her back into his life.
The lead female is named Eden, a journalist. When their relationship ended 4 years previously, she went to cover a dangerous story at a war-torn area and the back-story on this alone is quite interesting.
Rafael & Eden were set up to mistrust each other by another person, and they meet up 4 years later. Since then, she has scars from a serious injury, and is afraid to show this man out of fear he will reject her. He is surrounded by women in bikinis constantly with his job, so she is even more afraid of his rejection. However, she also mistrusts him for not believing in her 4 years ago. The way Rafael helps her overcome her fears is so heartwarming and perfect. I loved the way the author told this storyline.
These 2 characters find a way to believe in each other again, which is at times achingly touching. This is a wonderful story, and the lead female has real backbone, ladies! She stands up to the love of her life and doesn't slink away or back down from him at all, which I think is a refreshing change.
I highly recommend this book. It was well-written, and the story keeps one's interest from beginning to end.
If you have favorite author names to share with me, I'd love to hear from you!

Finally a strong heroine!!, May 16, 2010
Eden was a very strong heroine. Even though she knew how attracted to Rafe she was she continued to fight that attraction. She refused to be blackmailed like so many of the other heroines in these stories. She stood her ground and finally had to give in deciding that living with Rafe on his terms was better than not living with him at all. She had decided this after witnessing Rafe crash and thinking how he could have died as well as the fact that she could have died before too. Things were tied up a bit quickly but that seems to be the norm for these books. It was just nice to see the heroine actually fighting herself not to give in for about half the book. So much nicer than watching the hero play her and forcing her to give in. Yeah it was a bit creepy that he had been with so many women, he claimed that he pretended each on was Eden, and no one mentioned protection or wether or not anyone was clean. Had these issues been discussed this book could have gotten a higher score. After all Eden was a strong heroine and she should have noted the risks with Rafe being "around" so much!

What a Jerk, she'd be so much better off with someone else, March 29, 2010
They were together for a year, his father wanted him to marry someone else, his brother leads her into a compromising situation. The supposed hero doesn't even listen to her side. For the past four years he's been bedding every female that's in front of him, but he said he was thinking of her when he was with them, yeah right, that makes sense, instead of going after her if he loves her so much, but no he'll just take all these women to bed but think of her when he's with them, totally makes sense to me, NOT. Then finally when he does finally decide to find her/after he's run out of women to bed, he goes off to find her only to take his current bed partner with him, you think at least if he's trying to win her back he would have finished with his bed partner before he goes to find her. Now I wonder why I'm a bit oh I don't know - don't believe a word he said, he supposedly wants her back and has wanted her back for a long time all the while sleeping with other women instead of finding the heoine and working things out, finally going to find her and taking his bed partner with him, really don't understand that one. She's had to see him in print with all his girlfriends and he expects her to remain true only to him, which she does of course because he's the only whore, but she's not to worry because he was thinking of her the whole time, that surely must ease her heartache, it's okay I slept with them but I was thinking of you the whole time. Now if that's how he shows how much he loves her, she is so much better of without him. Don't even bother with this book, there's no love here.
