'Private Parts:The Album'-Various Artists (Warner Brothers),
By
This review is from: Private Parts: The Album (1997 Film) (Audio CD)
Beside 'Beavis&Butthead Do America',this is like the ONLY other movie soundtrack I've really liked in the past several years. The Howard Stern story is outrageously funny.I got a big kick out of hearing the several breif dialogue bits taken from the movie. As for the tunes,I totally loved the Type O Negative track where they pair off w/Ozzy covering the Status Quo gem "Pictures Of Matchstick Men",Green Day covering The Kink's "Tired Of Waiting For You" and Porno For Pyro's new cut "Hard Charger".The Ben Stern Megamix is a work of near genius. There are also some summertime hard rock favorites here by Deep Purple,Ted Nugent,AC/DC and Van Halen.A nice find.

TOO HOT FOR RADIO,
By andy8047 (Nokomis,Florida) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Private Parts: The Album (1997 Film) (Audio CD)
First came the book, then this album, then the movie. The King Of All Media at his most hilarious. The soundtrack to the 1968 movie "Bonnie and Clyde" was like this album. Excerpts of dialogue from the movie. We start with some dialogue spoken by Paul Giamatti's character,Kenny "Pig Virus or Vomit" Rushton in the movie's final scene(the end credits are rolling during this scene). How dare he say "Howard Stern can kiss my ass in hell!"! This album features great recordings by Ozzy Osbourne,Ted Nugent,Van Halen,Green Day and the Ramones. There's TORTURED MAN performed by Stern and the Dust Brothers. Many of these dialogue excerpts are definitely too hot for radio airplay. There would be bleeps very often as required by the FCC. THE BEN STERN MEGAMIX is really silly. That Howard's father in "club" form. There are live versions of AC-DC's YOU SHOOK ME ALL NIGHT LONG and Cheap Trick's I WANT YOU TO WANT ME. I laughed so hard when I first heard the dialogue excerpts. One funny bone-tickler is where Giamatti angrily labeled Stern as "the motherf---ing antichrist". Totally awesome!

excellent new music matched with classic songs,

As soon as you hear Rob Zombie's colaboration with Howard, you know this is going to be all good. Instant energy (how about that chorus?) This soundtrack rocks. 'Matchstick Men' is beautiful, and the Manson track is one of his best. I really listen to the new music more, but the classic rock songs are also worth while.
