5.0 out of 5 stars Funniest Book I've Ever Read
Yes, this is the funniest book I have ever read. I was never really into the Howard Stern Show, only listening sometimes while my dad drives me to school (I'm 14), but this book changed me, and now I love listening to the show in the morning. It gets me ready for school I suppose.

3.0 out of 5 stars ....and i thought i was disfunctional!
a rather interesting bio. pretty much the whole book is half bio and half satire and commentary. it definitly give's you a tour into the demented mind of howard stern and as you progress through the book even as raunchy as it get's you finish by saying to yourself "well that made sense"

not for the uptight and not for the easily offended,,,read with an open...

Yes, this is the funniest book I have ever read. I was never really into the Howard Stern Show, only listening sometimes while my dad drives me to school (I'm 14), but this book changed me, and now I love listening to the show in the morning. It gets me ready for school I suppose.

The book goes into the many parts of Howards life. It tells you how he his father used to treat him, and his mother as well. It really makes you wonder how he survived in a house like that. It tells of his college experiences with women and radio. It tells about all his old bosses, such as Pig Virus (read the book). The book was funny through the beginning but once he hits the part where he talks about the celebs he hates, it really gets hilarious, just read what he thinks of Madonna, or Regis, or Kathie-Lee. I could go on and on. The chapter with Stuttering John is hilarious as well. I never knew Baba-Booey was their first interviewer.

All in all, this is a very, very good well written book. It's very light reading, so I can recommend it to pretty much anyone. Be aware that the amount of cursing is borderline extreme though, but it's nothing a person age 12+ hasn't heard before.

5.0 out of 5 stars I could not put this book down!!, June 21, 1998
I had never seen or listened to any Howard Stern shows before reading this book so I did not know exactly what to expect. What I pleasantly discovered within the pages of this book was the most entertaining autobiography I have read in my life. The length of the book scared me a little when I first saw it but I finished it in no time. Just a great great book! Good work Howard!

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Stuff, July 26, 2000

I am and have been a fan of Howard Stern for years now, but this book brought me closer to the show and the way he thinks. From the exterior the book seems crass, and it is. But what Private PArts(PP) also contains is a touching and funny story of a loser who made it to the top. His often turbulent boyhood to his trials of being a married man. Aside from a biograghy, PP also touches on Howard's opinions on almost everything. Some of the material even offended me, but I know that he is just like almost everyone, except he says it. An in-your-face book that will have you laughing from start to finish.

This book was one of the funniest I've ever read. I actually laughed out loud which I seldom do when reading. Howards b***** comments on celebrities were absolutely hilarious. It's a quick read and I'd recommend it to anyone who's looking for something fun to read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Private Parts, August 17, 2004
Love him or hate him (I'm on the love side) this is truely a must read! His tale of his life comming from next to nothing to the top of the food chain is hillarious and insightful. Also his behind the scenes view of celeberties is great especially from a man known not to hold anything back. Surprisingly for a first time author this is well written and the story is insporational. Honestly one of my favorite books!

5.0 out of 5 stars Laugh Out Loud Hysterical, August 14, 2003
By
Reviewer X (Las Vegas, USA) - See all my reviews
If you want a book that will make you laugh out loud on every single page, then this is the book for you. It is also in introspective look at Howard Stern's formative years. You want to know what constantly yelling at your kid and calling him stupid will do, read this book.
This book has at least three laughs per page. When I first read this it was on a train back to college. I had my headphones on and this book in my hands. People must have thought I was insane because I was laughing hysterically almost constantly. I couldn't help it! I recently reread the book because it was on my bookshelf and I hadn't read it in so long. I laughed AGAIN hysterically, this time on a long flight. I have never laughed and smiled more at a book than this one. It is perfect for what it is designed for...FUN!!
Lay back, relax and laugh. If you are depressed it is an amazing pick me up.

5.0 out of 5 stars ABSOLUTE SCREAM...YOU'LL LAUGH YOUR BUNS OFF!, April 5, 2001
Stern is brilliantly irreverent. He is not afraid to tell the truth--he will say things that most of us wouldn't dream of saying aloud. He is the Voice of the Silent Majority, the Man of the Common People. Not only can he say the most outrageous things, but he has the quick wit and brilliance to defend himself from the slings and arrows of those who dare to challenge him. My favorite is his trashing of egotistical, conceited celebrities. He is not awed or intimidated by the rich and famous. He is quick to expose their hypocrisy and their lies, and I just love that about him. Yet what's great is that Stern doesn't hesitate to make fun of himself as well. If you can get pass his vulgar, graphic language and the scatological humor, you'll realize Stern is a brilliant satiricist and incredibly funny. As a credit to Stern's humor, my husband lost his father and was depressed for many months, rarely smiling. The only thing that made him laugh was Howard's book. I would to him aloud chapters of "Private Parts", and he'd laugh his head off. His favorite chapter was "Yes I am Fartman", a painfully explicit, but very funny dissertation on Stern's excessive flatulence. Buy this book and Stern's "Miss America"--both are great reads.

By
Kev McMurray (Dublin, Ireland) - See all my reviews
This is one of those books you can pick up anywhere, read a few pages, enjoy it, and put it down again. Perfect for, er, certain rooms in the apartment.

If you get Howard, you should get this.
