Book Description

0917539044 978-0917539046 December 1986 2
The primary purpose of Pilot Handbook is to consolidate and organize all FAA material relevant to all pilots in one easy-to-use book. This includes the Federal Aviation Regulations, Student Pilot Flying Handbook (formerly the Pilot's Handbook of Aeronautical Knowledge), Airplane Flying Handbook (formerly the Flight Training Handbook), Aviation Weather, Aviation Weather Services, and many other FAA books, pamphlets, circulars, etc.

Pilot Handbook focuses on airplane flight training, rather than balloon, glider, or rotorcraft training. Pilot Handbook was carefully designed to make it easy for you to learn and understand, while saving you time, effort, frustration, and money. This book SIMPLIFIES and FACILITATES your learning by the use of our outline/illustration format.

Review

"Gleim took me all the way to the right seat of a B-757 at US Airways where I am today!" -- Stephen Korner, January 25, 2000

"I earned grades of 97, 100, 98, 98, and 98 on the private, instrument, commercial, FOI, and CFI, respectively!!!" -- Philip Dery, November 2, 2000 --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

From the Author

"The bottom line is, be a success in whatever you choose to do with your life. People learn and grow as individuals and therefore need to find their own personalized system to achieve success. For me, making a career of the things I enjoy most was the only way to go. Lastly, remember that there is no substitute for studying diligently and effectively. Our ability to address the need for systematic, no-nonsense exam prep and study materials that get the job done right has contributed to the success of literally millions of accountants and pilots. It's fun to succeed and help others succeed." --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

5.0 out of 5 stars Low cost, complete private pilot resource guide, November 15, 2000
By
"vorfix" (New Jersey USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Pilot Handbook (Paperback)
This book was a rare find! Written in an easy to search and cross reference numbered outline format it provides a great source for an experienced or new pilot trying to stay current. The text is easy to read, spaced to allow for adding your own notes and the graphics are exceptionally clear! The coverage of FAR regulations is in summary format, not the complete text. This is sufficient for a BFR review but not the source to go to when the FAA comes knocking. Gleim takes care to keep the book current with frequent printings and an internet site with the latest errata info. The book covers all the topics on the private pilot exam however it does not include a practice exam. Some worked examples are scattered throughout the book expecially in the weather and navigation sections. It is a resource not a training guide. There is a section on the BFR that will be helpful to all pilots. Contains a complete index. Comparable books cost three times as much!!
