I really enjoyed this story. As others have noted, it is a powerful story of forgiveness and redemption. I don't understand how all of the editing issues were left resolved. There are several errors including basic usage, punctuation, capitalization, and verb tense. The punctuation of dialogue is so poor that at times I had to re-read passages to determine who was speaking. I am an English teacher, and I realize I am probably more cognizant of these issues because I edit hundreds of papers, but the mistakes are basic and blatant, which is too bad because it takes away from an otherwise well-written story.

Realistic view of a relationship that has it's hardships. Shows no one is exempt from being tested despite of occupation or status. Love endures all things though Christ & prayer. Very touching story line that kept drawing me in that I didn't realize I reached the end of the book lol Definitely recommend anyone who enjoys a great read that makes you think... Buy this book!!!

This is the third book I've read by Brenda Barrett, (the other two were "New Beginnings" and "The Preacher and The Prostitute) and honestly I will admit that the storyline kept my attention. I read it in one sitting. I seldomly write reviews, but I felt I needed to share my impression of the author's work.

Brenda has a way of drawing the reader into her stories, which I think are well-written and suspense-driven. She presents her messages clearly and tantalizes her readers' imagination. The message of forgiveness is boldly told and I appreciate Brenda's consistency in her work. This book was a little shorter than rest of I've read, (it seemed to be part of a series, I hope),but without reservation, I would recommend "Private Sins".

Excellent job, Brenda! Continue on the path you've started.

I loved this book. I have seen the struggles of the pastor and seen them fall. However, first lady Kelly shows the struggles of being a first lady. My heart went out to her and her husband. The first ministry of the family,is the family. I loved how it ended and I gladly recommend this book. Good job Ms Barrett.

It was an interesting book. It definitely kept my attention. I just didn't enjoy the subject matter. I don't want to read about affairs and lies in a Christian book, not very uplifting in any way.

Theo and Kelly's story really makes you sit back and think, what if this was your story. Me, being a man, I have to give Theo credit for a being stronger and more spiritual man than I could have been if faced with this situation. I really respected his character a lot. I know that this story happens everyday in this world, but people handle things differently. Theo seems like a man who loves his wife and family wholeheartedly. Kelly on the other hand didn't deserve the love of her husband after what she did to him. She had unprotected sex with another man and got pregnant. In the beginning of the book, her and her sister pretty much were joking around about the whole thing. She was asked if she loved the other guy and she wasn't sure. Really? Seems like she was dishonest with Theo the whole time until he found out. As I stated earlier, Theo is a strong man. Stronger than most.
