This is a CD that i can call a masterpiece. The songs brings me reminiscences of beautiful beaches in Jamaica,Tahiti and Bahia(Brazil). All the tunes are pleasurable but there are three genuine pearls to the ears: Cory's song, Pardon my appearance(my favorite song) and My love, a inebriant reggae. The song lambada is a version of the famous lambada era music "llorando se fue" composed by Ulisses Hermosa Gonzales. If you buy it,you'll love it!

By the first single, the Prince-penned, "The Sex of It," you would never THINK that the The Kid and Minneapolis would combine so well muscially, however, what you end up with is a delicious slice of Funk Pie that blows these "Private Waters in the Great Divide" to BITS! It's a JAM and a 1/2 and it became a Top 20 R&B hit. "I Like Girls" is equally as potent and funky!

Additionally, there's the comical (and pertinent to the 90's "safe sex" campaigns,) ("No More) Casual Sex," which has the typical Kid Creole "island" vibe set to a calypso-ish, infectious big band groove.

The rest is typical, sexy, Coco-nutty fun!...a GREAT brass and percussion-oriented foray into the many diverse sound(s) of the early nineties when Soul to Soul and Crystal Waters were joining in on setting new trends that were hard to resist and/or duplicate, but that were completely inspired and geared toward those beat-hungry droves of dancin' feet! This one's a winner and it's perplexing as to why it didn't fare any better than it did. It was followed up by the equally as unsuccessful, "You Shoulda Told Me You Were..." a year later on Columbia/CBS.
