We have used this product for years and it has worked fine. My wife likes to put it onto her winter boots to keep them looking new. It repels water, snow, salt and even dirt so it will not soak into our shoes. One of the benefits of this product is that it does not discolor your shoes or fabrics and it still allows the material to breathe.
The product does not contain silicone and it prolongs the life of your shoes and other items. You can even use it for example on your baseball cap so when you wear it in the rain you do not get it soaked and it keeps you drier.

I have posted photos of the can and of the instructions but because it is hard to read I have listed the basic application details below for your information.

Application is fast and easy:
* Clean your shoes and remove all dust and dirt
* Shake the can well
* Hold the can 7 to 8 inches and spray in a thin and even coat
* Do not saturate the surface of the shoe or item
* Let each coat dry at least 30 minutes before applying a second coat.
* You should only spray this either outside or in a well-ventilated area.
* Do not get onto your skin or eyes and do not wear the item you have sprayed until it is thoroughly dry.

This is a good product and the can we have has lasted a couple of years. It only takes a little to treat our shoes and is has been a good value. My wife just loves it to keep her shoes looking good and we recommend it to you as a good product. We rate it five stars.

Works great. Coated three pairs of shoes with two coating per pair. I am going to quote another pair soon but the bottle is almost emply. I started from one casual brown suede shoes and then two pairs of Onitsuka Tigers (one black suede and one cream-colored leather). So far it did not discolor the shoes. The casual brown suede shoes was particularly amazing since there was a downpour and there was a four inch flood on the streets. I tiptoed with the front part of the shoe dipped in the water. When I stepped out of the water, the water just formed into beads and the front part of the shoe and my feet are dry. I'm going to buy a second bottle soon.

I've been using this water repellent spray for years on leather/suede shoes and purses. Never had a problem with staining, just follow the instructions and make sure you're spraying at least about a foot away.

I bought this for some suede shoes. I have to admit this product was not as toxic smelling as say scotchguard is. It dried quicker. My suede shoes remained the same color after treatment. One can did 6 pairs of shoes and 2 purses, each with 2 light coats. I just wish the price with shipping was more reasonable.

My mom has been using this stuff for years on her shoes while I chose to use Nikwax and Tectron for my jackets and hiking gear. A couple months ago I was heading out for a trip to the Washington coast (in November, so lots of rain) and remembered that I needed to recoat my jacket after I washed it and was out of Nikwax and Tectron so I used the Penguin. This stuff works awesome! Applied two coats and the rain just beaded up and rolled off. Still going strong after several trips and much abuse. And the kicker, it's about half the cost of almost everything out there!

Have been using this product for over 15 years. I always have a can (or 2) on hand. Use it on ALL my shoes from sneakers to sandals, to heels & everything in between. Spray my new shoes as soon as I get them... it extends the life & look of the shoes for years. Works great on jackets/ coats too. Quick & easy to use... & MADE IN USA.

I have a cloth hat, the kind with a wide front brim and the "mullet" flap in back to protect the neck form sun and rain. It is a really good hat for sun, but the last time I was in a rainstorm, it got really soaked, and I thought it would be absolutely perfect if it were water repellent. I was going to go out and buy some silicone spray, but saw this on my shelf. Reading the label, It seemed to be mostly for shoes, but mentioned canvas shoes, so I figured it should work on a cloth hat. I followed the directions carefully, and gave my hat two coats, with time to dry between. The spray smelled during and immediately after, but I was pleased to find it did not have a lingering smell after only a couple hours of drying time. To test my treated hat, I gave the cloth flap in back a good spray with the distilled water spray bottle I use for my Norfolk pine. The mist beaded on the surface and It seemed to work......for about 20 seconds. Then the water began to soak in, and in a couple of minutes seemed quite wet. Hardly water repellent at all. I think my hat is marginally better than untreated, but I would have done much better with silicone spray.
