I was so very excited about having a wireless classic-style controller for my Wii but, this has been very disappointing. I ordered a silver one that arrived with a defective control stick. I returned that one in exchange for a black one (silver was sold out) and it too is defective. Inspite of charging the battery per instructions, it will not power on.

I cannot recommend this product to anybody.

This is NOT a Wii U Pro Controller. The manufacturer is clearly trying to mislead people into thinking this product is something it's not. The packaging says flat out "3 in 1 functionality" with a little graphic below it indicating that it functions as a Wii U Pro Controller. Based on that, any relatively intelligent consumer would be led to believe that it works exactly the same as Nintendo's Wii U Pro Controller but that consumer would be wrong. This controller will not work with games designed to use the official Pro controller. Do not waste your time with this if that is what you are looking for.

You might be thinking, "ok fine, but what if I wanted to use it for side scrolling games that only support Wii remotes since it seems like it would be more comfortable?" Well, you'd be wrong again because the button mapping is so odd and uncomfortable that you'd be better off sticking with your Wii remote. Here's why: anyone interested in a controller that looks like this is likely familiar with SNES controllers and would want to play any 2 button games with their thumb over the Y and B buttons like you did on all your favorite SNES platformers. Well you can't because this controller maps the 1 & 2 buttons on the Wii remote to Y & X. So just imagine trying to play Super Mario Bros with your thumb over Y & X, with the right analog stick in your way. The only games this controller works well with are games that support the original Wii classic controller since the mapping is the same, but at that point, save yourself some money and go buy a Nintendo made classic controller.

I'm not sure who would enjoy using this product when there is nothing it does that a different controller doesn't do better. Don't waste your money. I just returned mine to Amazon.

Check out my video to see it:
[...]

Pros:
-Rechargeable
-use as wii mote
-connectable to iPad and android (can't use the classic controll scheme for some reason)
-clickable analog
-looks nice doesnt feel cheap

Cons
-CAN NOT USE AS Wii U CONTROLLER PRO! (Dammit can't use to play ninja gaiden III)
-when using in super smash bros brawl , if you accidentally clicked the left analog, it does the B special -.-
- cant use analog in new super Mario bros U and Nintendo land
-the controller mapping for new super mario bros U sucks! I want to use Y to speed up/special and B to jump. Not Y for speed up/special and X to jump. I wish there was an option to reconfigure your buttons :/
-battery life sucks, probably as much or a little less than the wii u gamepad

If you are going to get this, just use for virtual console games or if you use a iPad,android or Pc/Mac , just pair it up with those.

I bought this item. Worked on the wiimote option perfect, didn't work on the controller setting. Got a new one and still didn't work. Doubt if I tried a third one it would work either.

Although, this is a very well constructed controller, and it does work well with Wii and Virtual console games, it does not work ( AT ALL ) with Wii brew emulation. All other controllers that I have purchased all work without a hitch. This is the only one that does not. There is also no support on the web for this problem, and as of this writing no scripts that have been written either. As for most purchasers, this would not be a problem, but for the select few in the modding community, this is a bust. Sorry to disappoint....

Product was defective and did not function well as a classic controller and do not be mislead into thinking it may work as a Pro controller for Wii U games - it will not be recognized! It is a terrible design and is glitchy. I strongly recommend you DO NOT BUY from Interworks! Their customer service was also terrible at offering any help, this product is an extremely low quality electronic!

It's pretty cheap, and unlike an official Wii Classic Controller, it's wireless. Borrowing the structure of the Classic Controller U, it feels good at first. However, I have experienced more technical issues with this controller than actual gameplay, with it simply not liking to sync up or turn on at all. These may be issues exclusive to trying to use it to play Wii games on a Wii U -- but if you already own a Wii U and are considering using this, I have to confess it may not be the best option. It looks good, it feels OK (though the D-pad is a bit wonky), and on paper it makes so much sense to have a controller than can function as a every form of Wii controller (even a Wii pointer). It's a shame it just doesn't seem to function correctly.
