5.0 out of 5 stars Predator Gold GS-P300
These headphones are the best on the market for what they were designed to do, to protect and amplify at the same time. They are expensive but you get what you pay for. These headphones can amplify ambient sound eight times yet still provide NRR 26 noise reduction. What this means to you is that you can hear a cricket at 100 yards and still quiet that 308. There's nothing...

On one hand, these seem to be great. On the other, they are way too expensive for what they do. I have other passive ear muffs that block out far more sound and other active muffs that were more like $20 that are fine. They do not block out enough for some hot 44 Magnum loads I was shooting out of a 2 3/8" subbie - I needed plugs inside these muffs. If they were under...

There's nothing like hearing a big buck snort wheeze at 150 yards but not the crack of your high-powered centerfire round. Oh yeah, one other bonus, the headphones immediately amplify the shot echoing in the valley. That alone is priceless! The only downside of these expensive headphones is noise reduction at an indoor range. If all you do is shoot indoors there are less expensive alternatives but if you spend most of your shooting time out of doors, these headphones won't disappoint you. Did I mention the five-year warranty!

5.0 out of 5 stars pro ears ear protectors, July 1, 2011

I have used many passive ear protectors in the past. This is a very comfortable device to wear and it makes conversation possible even with loud noise nearby. I would recomend the pro ears predator gold ear muffs to anyone that needs a high quality hearing protector.

If you do not have a budget, then by all means buy these. If you ARE on a budget, these aren't your ticket...
