Book Description

August 20, 2010
It's easy to find out who was the number one rusher of all time, or to track down the top-ten runners, but was number eleven that much worse to deserve vanishing into obscurity?

If you want to know more than who was the best, but there was no vehicle to satisfy this curiosity, no way to compare good players from forty years ago with present day players.

Now there is. . . It's easy to find stats of a football player for a given season, or over a whole career, but the numbers don't mean much without a context. Now, with Pro Football Stats, you can have at your fingertips a decade-long snapshot of a team or a player. You can track a team's dominance over the league, or track any player's ascendancy - or decline - over a ten-year period using this easy-to-use resource book.

Editorial Reviews

Review

This is an incredibly comprehensive look at 10 years worth of football statistics. Most books just look at a single year's or a player's career stats. This book looks at an Era's worth of football at a time. The grid-iron kings are definitely revealed - no question, just great information and a new way to look at the some of the greatest players to ever take the field! Football at its best... --John Craig, author Secrets to Creating Passive Income

About the Author

To tackle creating a database so that you might gauge a football league's ebb and flow over a ten-year period requires not just obstinancy, but sheer, "pigskin-headed", single-mindedness.

Don Nichols met the challenge and assembled the full 1970s set of statistics ready for all his fellow football junkies to compare and contrast across the decade, and against football players of today or all-time. . .

5.0 out of 5 stars Why the seventies?, August 11, 2011
This review is from: Pro Football Stats of the 70's (Paperback)
Have you ever tried to tell someone just how good Ken Stabler was? Or Franco Harris? Or Paul Krause? There are huge 15-pound tomes full of every player that ever donned a uniform, but no easy way to look at a player or a team in context. Football Stats of the 70's does all that. A snapshot of the decade from 1970 to 1979. Every major stat is covered, both teams and players. Find out who was an All-Pro, played in a Pro Bowl, or an MVP. Stumble over names that had slipped your memory. Football stats of the 70's is broken into two volumes, one for the league and one with the stats separated out by teams. Enjoy a look back through football in the seventies!
