"35-percent smaller, but actually feels more natural."

Optimal comfort, natural feel, better performance (black controllers pictured).

MiniRemote is 35-percent smaller than the original Wii Remote, and more comfortable for both kids and adults. View larger.
Designed for Smooth, Comfortable Gaming
As the smallest Wii controller available on the market, the POWER A Pro Pack Mini is designed to accommodate hands of all sizes. The remote has been scaled down, and is 35-percent smaller than the original Wii Remote. Both adults and children will find the smaller frame feels more natural and intuitive.

The MiniRemote is also designed to keep you comfortable, even after long periods of intense gaming. The surfaces are gently contoured, reducing the pressure on your fingers. The MiniChuk features an ergonomic grip that conforms with your hand, ensuring that you don't cramp up. And thanks to the included wrist strap, you won't have to worry about accidentally hurling your remote during particularly physical gaming sessions.

Intuitive, Familiar Button Layout for Precise Control
In spite of its small size, the POWER A Pro Pack Mini completely retains the function of the original Wii controller. Both the MiniRemote and the MiniChuk use a familiar button layout that longtime Wii users are sure to enjoy. Additionally, a few improvements have been added. First, the remote's A, 1, and 2 buttons have been enlarged to provide greater accuracy and responsiveness. The MiniChuk's analog stick has been rebalanced for optimal weight, giving you more precise control than ever before. The built-in speaker has also been improved, and can now play back sounds with greater fidelity.

Attractive Visual Design
The POWER A Pro Pack Mini also features a sleek, attractive look that will complement your Wii. It sports a smart, slim design and a smooth, purple finish. The main buttons and analog stick are also backlit, providing you with greater visibility in the dark.

Full MotionPlus Compatibility
The MiniRemote also features full compatibility with the MotionPlus expansion device (not included). MotionPlus enables the remote to sense movement even more effectively, giving you a more precise and realistic experience. Even nuanced actions--like wrist twitches and slow, gliding movements--can be picked up and replicated by MotionPlus. The MiniRemote also supports a variety of other, third-party attachments.

The POWER A Pro Pack Mini for Wii is backed by a two-year warranty. Visit POWER A's website for details.

These are much lighter and comfortable to hold than the Nintendo controllers, especially because of the rubberized surface. The nunchuk analog stick and buttons are perfect, and the grip makes it much easier for your fingers to nestle in around it, plus it has an extra 6 inches of cord which is nice. The IR pointing on the remote seems more reliable, but the D-pad is less reliable in that it triggers diagonals when you're just trying to hit in one of the four primary directions. One problem I did notice with the accelerometer in the remote is in games where you hold it horizontal and gently tilt it, it tends not to respond till you've tilted a certain amount, so it was hard to tilt it smoothly when you tilt past the point where it is horizontal. AAA batteries won't last as long, so you'll have to change the batteries more often with this. For the price, I think this is an excellent set. While I have no issues with the nunchuk, I find the remote is not ideal for certain games because of the issues with the D-pad and accelerometer. For most games I'd rather use this than the Nintendo controllers though.

I live in Japan and had this unit sent over for my daughter for Christmas. She was really excited about it but it doesn't work, unfortunately. The IR pointing function is jittery, the cursor disappears, and we finally discovered that if you hold the controller at an odd angle at a point about 4 feet to the left and 10 feet above the TV, you can control the cursor.

None of our official Nintendo controllers have any problems and I've tried different batteries and sensor bar settings. I'd send this back if I could but its too much trouble being overseas.

I'm going to start by saying I love how small this kit is, and the little LED accent lights around the analog stick, and in the buttons on the remote itself.

That being said, oooooh boy it's time for the cons:

-This thing is CRAZY finicky about battery voltage. I get maybe 3 hours of life out of my rechargeable batteries. Pull the batteries out and put them in anything else (flashlight, portable speakers, TV remote) and they last just like they were brand new.

-The motion controls don't work at ALL. I'm not talking about MotionPlus, I know that's a separate attachment. I'm talking about tilting the remote, or shaking it. For example, Mario Party has some basic motion controls, none of which this remote will do. Maybe mine is just busted, but the motion controls don't work for either the nunchuk OR the remote, so I'm not sure.

-Plugging attachments into this and using them (such as classic controller pro) will cause the remote to shut itself off after 5 minutes due to inactivity. You could be in the middle of a heated SSBB brawl, and suddenly *poof* your remote is off. Brand new batteries, cleared all sync data, and performed permanent master-sync, so I'm not sure what's going on. To be fair, I have 2 other 3rd party remotes that do the same exact thing (also tested on a friend's Wii), so maybe it's not the remote's fault.

So basically this remote works for all games that either hold the remote sideways (WITH NO MOTION CONTROLS) or pointer+nunchuk (WITH NO MOTION CONTROLS). Sorry Mario Kart, Mario Party, MotoHeroz, Lilt Line, Okami, Onslaught, Call of Duty, Metroid Prime Trilogy, Mario Galaxy 1&2, Zelda Twilight Princess, Wii Sports, ExciteBots, Conduit 1&2, etc etc.

I purchased this item because my young son and his friends next door go between houses playing the Wii and transporting the controllers. I use the Wii mostly for exercise and when I'm ready to do that, I need the controllers to be readily available, have working batteries, have the battery cover in place, etc. Since, that isn't a given, I had to purchase my own. And why not a purple one since that's my favorite color!

PROS: The controller is much more comfortable for my hand than the Nintendo version. It's compact and comfortable. And it's my favorite color!

CONS: One of the exercise "games" I do is the Gold's Gym Cardio workout, which is basically boxing. At times, it seems the MiniChuk is not as sensitive as it needs to be and I miss the targets on the screen. I have seen this with the Nintendo Nunchuk as well, so I'm not positive it's the game, the equipment or the operator.

Overall, I am pleased with the purchase.

1. When used with another remote [the one that came with the Wii Bundle], I see a disabled hand and the remote doesn't work. It does work when the other remote is removed.

2. The nunchuck is not recognized even if it is the only remote in use

3. Very deceptive of the manufacturer to put the "compatible" in fine print and Wii MotionPlus in bold. People dont have time to read all the fine print. They look at the bold large font blue and the perception is that this thing has MotionPlus.

Its quite apparent that the people posting the positive reviews are either the manufacturer or someone lucky enough to get a proper working unit.

My unit is going back.
